Think you can make a good comment? 20 Do's and Don't's for commenting on blogs (and why commenting is important in the first place)

Comments are very very important things on a blog. As a blogger you get awesome feedback from your readers. As a reader you can voice your opinions and possibly tell some criticisms. To me it is a must have kind of thing (though that is only my opinion). Here are my Do's and Don'ts of commenting.

But before we get started, you might be wondering why in the world commenting is important? Well here is why.

1. It helps the blogger because:

-It makes them happy (you can't really deny it all my blogger readers!).
-It gives them feedback with lets them improve there blogs. Which is always good, right?

2. It helps you as a reader because:

-You can connect with other people.
-You can learn something new!
-You can promote yourself.

Do you believe commenting is important now? Good.

Do's for commenting

Leave a link to your blog at the end of every comment. Easy Hyper Links is a really awesome website that I totally recommend for this.

Compliment there post! Say that you like the post. This makes bloggers really happy ( I know from experience).

Say why you like the post. Even if you do all of the wonderful stuff above if you don't say why you like the post it almost means nothing.

black-and-white, hand, whitespace

Say something personnel. This is an awesome way to share experiences and really connect with the blogger. Lets say the post is about camping. Share an experience you had camping. Or maybe how much you want to go camping.

Add some of your advice. Let's say the post is about sleeping. Do you have any more tips to add? Share them! This can help you, the other readers, and the blogger! Win win win.

Leave your name.  This isn't a must but it is a nice way to close a comment.

sign, pin, badge

Use the name of the person who wrote the post in the comment. Like instead of "great post!" do "Great post Nabila!". This makes it a lot more personal and nice.

Don'ts for Commenting

Be afraid to write a long comment! If you have an opinion then you should share it! Even if it is really long or really short. Sometimes when all the other comments on a blog are super long I am scared to comment because I know my comment won't be that long.

Write a one/two word comment. This will not help anyone anywhere!

Write a comment like this.

Awesome post!

*insert name*

*insert link*

hands, laptop, notebook

Ask for the blogger to follow you. You will just seem greedy and it doesn't look good.

Ask the bloggers readers to follow you. *Que gasping from unseen audience*. This is even worse then the one above. If you comment like that then that means you probably don't care about the post and just want to use the blogger. No one *note bold letters* likes that!

Ask the blogger to visit your blog. Again seriously just rude. Though this is less horrible then asking for followers still don't do it. If you want to promote your blog just leave link at the end of the comment.

Should I do more blog tips? What is your opinion on commenting? What are some of your tips? How did you like this? Do you usually do long or short comments? Do you comment a lot? Do you agree with my do's and don'ts? Have anything to add?

7 things you should always take with you for car-camping

If you've been wondering for these last 2 days (well at least yesterday and part of today). I have been camping in a state park around an hour from my house. It was so fun! We had s'mores, I slept well, and everything. So I am by no means an expert at camping but here are 10 things you should always bring if you ever go camping (or at least car camping)!

Ok first let me get straight what "car camping" means. You can find a good definition here. But pretty much it is camping in a tent in a designated place with your car right there. So you can bring all of your stuff in a car and then you don't have to walk it a long distance because you're car would be a couple feet from your campsite.

1) S'mores!

Well not actually s'mores but the ingredient for s'mores. So chocolate, gram crackers and amazing marshmallows. Because as one of the people I was staying with said "If you are camping without s'mores then you're really just homeless". And being homeless is not good at all.

2) A good sturdy tent

This should be a given for camping but hey you never know. The tent is going to be your home so you need a good one. You can get lots online or at your local outside kind of shop.

3) Comfortable walking/running/hiking/tennis shoes

Wherever you are camping whether is it by the beach, in a desert,  or in the jungle you are always going to walk around a little. So because of that you need some good shoes. Before hand make sure that the shoes you are bringing are comfortable and good for that kind of stuff.

4) Some weather appropriate clothes

Again a big given. You should always bring the right clothes for wherever you are going. My advice is to check it before hand and see what the weather is going to be like when you are staying.

5) First aid kit

It doesn't even have to be an elaborate one. But you still you should bring some bandaids and cleaners and that kind of stuff. Something is bound to happen and you don't want to be unprepared.

6) Matches

If you want to start a fire and have a fire pit you kinda need something to start it. So you should bring matches. They bring warmth they cook and a much of other stuff. Well actually the fire does all of those things but the match starts it.

7) Lantern/Flashlight

late at night and you need to see you need something to light your way. You can get some small flashlights for really cheap and they work quite well. Also when telling ghost stories you have to have a flashlight to make yourself look more ominous.

My daily bling (aka bracelets and necklaces I always wear)

Hello my lovely's! I haven't really done anything fashion related lately and I have been wanting to do a post like this for a while so I went ahead and did it. Today I am going to show you guys the jewelry that I where regularly.

First up I have my necklaces.

Isn't this just so glimmery and shiny! That is exactly what I thought when I saw it. One of my best friends got it for me around a month ago for a gift exchange thing where doing.  It's really big though so I have to loop it.

My friend also got this one for me (she seems to get me a lot of jewelry). At first glance you would probably think it was supposed to look like it was from somewhere else.  And actually it is. When my friend went to Australia this + a realy cute bag is what she brought me back. Isn't it cute!

This is probably my favorite necklace from this list. My grandmother got it for me for Christmas and it is just so pretty! It has three little charms on it. One say inspire one says dream and the other says wish.

Ok now for my bracelets.

This is a specific rainbow loom bracelet I have been wearing
lately but I usually switch it out. I have a lot of rainbow loom bracelets. This one is a really pretty color of pink (though it is simple) that I really like.

These are some bracelets I made out of some old materials I found in a bag in the house.

This is probably my favorite bracelets of the 3. I didn't make it (I'm honored if you think I did though). My mom gave it to me. I'm pretty sure she got it from one of her clients (though I might be wrong).

What have you been wearing lately? Do you wear bracelets and necklaces? What is your favorite piece that you own? What is your favorite jewelry trend? Do you like my fashion post? Should I do more of them?

BIBPC #2 Category 2

Lots of 2's. So I have my picture for the second category of megans contest. This time the theme was critters. Here it is:

Story behind picture: I took this last summer at the pool. I was at my aunts pool swimming when I saw this weird thing on the edge of the ledge and of course had to come over to see what it was. And it happened to be a dead dragonfly. So I picked it up with one of our pool toys and took a picture of it.

Plus I have some announcements:

-Loren is having an awesome book giveaway over at her blog that I think you should totally check out.

-I am getting my blog redesigned so watch out for that.

Do you like my photo? If yes/no why? Do you love book giveaways? Have you ever seen a dead animal and been totally grossed out?

9 easy tricks to help you to make an amazing title for your blog post that will make people actually click on it

I am definitely not an expert at blogging. At all. But one thing I know for sure about a blog is that without a catchy and hooking title no one is going to click on your blog post and they will just skip it.

1) Start with a rough draft

In all writing you need to start with some kind of a rough draft. This means a copy of what ever you are doing. Without all of the editing and the amazingness of it. The thing that you ccan lean on. So if I was trying to find a title for this post I could start with "How to make a blog post title".

2) Numbers!

Numbers are awesome in titles! And they are pretty east to include. If you have a post with 3 different types of makeup say that there are 3! If you have a post to say how to do something with coding say how any steps it takes! Easy. I'm pretty sure this is true because people hate uncertainty and love certainty. You always want to know what you are getting into.

3) Question?

Questions make good titles? Ya that's not a question. That's a fact! When you see a title that starts like "Did you know that pigs fly?" Or "What does McDonald realy put in there chicken nuggets?". If people have at least prier knowledge of the subject it will spark there interest. And they will think something like "Wow I never thought of that. This sounds interesting" or "No I didn't know that. I want to find out more!".  With are awesome reactions!

4) Good, fun, interesting adjectives

Like how I used awesome in my title. Everyone wants to be awesome make there stuff awesome right? Same thing with the rest of these adjectives. Like maybe "Strange"  or "Fantastic". Something that says how awesome or weird or interesting your post and whatever you are writing is.

5) Solid Nouns

If this is going to be a list post say it! If it is going to be tricks say it! Here are some examples:

-Lessons
-Ways
-Secrets

And that kind of stuff.

6) Don't lie!

No one likes a lair! If you have a title like "Ten people that can rule the world". Actually make sure that they can rule the world! If you have a title that says proven in it somewhere. Actually make sure it's proven! Yes saying these thing will probably make the reader click on the article but after they notice "Hey this isn't true at all!". They won't like you and will never come back.

7) Use negatives

Attack the reader! Use words like never or I bet you didn't. People like to know everything. And when they don't or don't want to be proven wrong (cause who does?). They will press on it.

8) Get all personal

Think about your audience. "Who are they?", "What do they do?", "How old are they?" and then use that to there advantage. Let's say most of your audience are teens or pre-tweens. Instead of doing a title like "5 thing everyone should know" you should do "5 thing every teens should know". This makes it a lot more person and a lot more attention grabbing. Even if I wasn't looking for everything I should know I would still click on it because it singles me out as a person.

9) Make it Searchable

Before I ever publish a post I make sure that the name is actually searchable. What I mean by searchable is that someone would actually search for for that.

5 Reasons Why "Star Wars : The Force Awakens" and "Star Wars: A New Hope" are the exact same!

Hello people and welcome! On Friday I finally watched the new star wars movie The Force Awakens! There has been a lot of buzz about this movie! My dad and my sister went to see it opening night. But I finally just watched it yesterday. As I stated watching it with my family I immediately noticed something it is almost the exact same as the first movie. Now now I'm not saying that there not good movies. They are amazing movies! But they have a lot of similarities. A little to many to not be noticed. Here are five of the similarities.

"But Nabila! They have different characters and time periods and everything!" That is true but the theme is very very very similar. It is like when a blogger copy's another bloggers post and puts it on there blog (new place) and changes up the words a little (new characters).

*note* There will be spoilers so if you haven't watched the movies and don't want any spoilers just scim or go to another post :)

The Force Awakens Summery:

Thirty years after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, the galaxy faces a new threat from the evil Kylo Ren  and the First Order. When a defected stormtrooper named Finn crash-lands on a desert planet, he meets Rey , a tough scavenger whose droid contains a top-secret map. Together, the young duo joins forces with Han Solo to make sure the Resistance receives the intelligence concerning the whereabouts of Luke Skywalker , the last of the Jedi Knights.

*note* the summery is from google for both of these

A New Hope Summery:

The Imperial Forces -- under orders from cruel Darth Vader -- hold Princess Leia hostage, in their efforts to quell the rebellion against the Galactic Empire. Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, captain of the Millennium Falcon, work together with the companionable droid duo R2-D2 and C-3PO to rescue the beautiful princess, help the Rebel Alliance, and restore freedom and justice to the Galaxy.

----

Similarities

1. Family! Both Rey and Luke have had there family taken away from them when they were very little and know little about them. Luke at the beginning of A New Hope has to live with his uncle and aunt and knows very very little about his father or mother. Rey at the beginning of The Force Awakens is living on her own. But she remembers as a little girl her parents being taken away.

2. Mentor like, father like guy. Both Rey and Luke meet a mentor like figure that without, the story would never had worked. For Rey it is Han Solo. They both love machinery. Kilo Ren even taunts rey by saying Han was "the father she never had". He is definitely not a mentor but they are very very similar and without them meeting Rey couldn't have gotten anywhere and eventually probably would have died. For Luke it is Obi-Wan Kenobi. Without them meeting Luke probably would have just staid in that dessert doing nothing or you know died. He was the one that introduced Luke the the whole jedi thing.

credit

3. Evil master organization! *Laughs hysterically!* I get it a lot of movies have evil organizations but these two are so similar! For A New Hope here is the evil Galactic Empire. They rule by force. There are storm troopers and cadets and a bunch of other stuff. For The Force Awakens there is the The First Order! Pretty much the exact same thing. Thy both have the same image and status and ya. Pretty much everything.

credit

4. Kylo Ren and Darth Vader:

  • Both have creepy masks and want to cover there faces.
  • Both are super strong Jedi.
  • Both used to be good but turned bad.
  • Both have sour connection with family.
  • Rey even says that Kylo wants to be like Darth Vader but is scared that he will never be good enough Although I think he is).
credit

5. Humongous planet like weapon things. Aka for A New Hope there scary planet The Death Star! They must make up a plan and hit this exact spot to blow it. Of course after turning off the force field. But for The Force Awakens there is the Starkiller Base. They must also blow it up by hitting an exact spot but before that turning of the force field. Even the name are a like! The only differences between the two are that one is bigger and is ice and one is smaller and is jungle. That is not a lot!

credit

Do you like star wars? Have you watched The Force Awakens? Have you watched A New Hope? Did you like them? What did you like? Do you agree with me in saying they are very very similar?

My pin board!

I had wanted a pin board for like EVER! I got one around a year ago and I was pretty happy. My mom just brought it home one day from work and asked if I wanted it. I said yes! I'm pretty sure it was originally a painting of a flower but they has used it for a pin board so that is also what I use it for.  I have a little tour of it today for you guys!

This is a little paper from a performance I did at school. the only reason i kept it is because it had my name in it.

This is a letter I got from my assistant principle congratulating me on my odessy of the mind accomplishments.

Here's the medal I got from the competition.

To spic it up a bit I added some duct tape to the top and bottom.

Here's a piece I did. It is supposed to be a view of the city if you laid down in the middle of the road and looked up.

These are my initials that I decorated. Isn't it cool they spell new!

This is a certificate I got last year for getting all A's.

This is a piece I did this year where the assignment was boots.

Here's some more of my art.

This I did in kindergarten (I think) and actually got an award for.

Here is some more certificates I have gotten.

*note* I am by no mean trying to brag. And I am not exceptionally good at art. All of the art stuff above has been done at school.

Do you like this type of post? Do you have something like this in your room? What is on it? With of my art pieces do you like the best?
