6 Things all Bloggers Know

Hello everyone! How are you guys doing today? So as you all know I am a blogger (you could proably figure that out by my blog and all). And as you also proably know bloggers are basically precious dolphins who know everything (not really we are more insecure little sardines fishing for compliment but we will put that aside for a moment). But bloggers are definitely very different from some of your normal unsuspecting people out there. Anyway so today I have decided to write a post about 6 things that all bloggers will proably know that some others might not.

When using photos that aren't yours you have to give attribution

When I fisrt started blogging I had no idea this was a thing. I have actualy deleted like a whole year of my posts because they were so cringy and really really bad but if I hadn't deleted them you would have noticed that the photos that I used were not mine. I also did this quite a bit in my 2015 posts. But as I learned how to be an actual blogger I learned that using photos that aren't yours without attribution is like not legal (kind of). I did a post a little bit ago where I listed 9 sites where you can find free images which you can find here.

Doing a happy dance when getting a new follower is not bad

I must admit that when I get a new follower on my blog or on bloglovin I might possible do a happy dance type thing. Sometimes physically and sometimes just emotionally and sometimes both. And most new/not very popular bloggers I am almost absolutelly certain do this as well. I mean think about it. On a blog it is different from social media. When someone follows your blog they want to read all of your content that you worked really hard on. That is like a whole person that actually likes your stuff. It is pretty awesome.

People have the attention span of gnats

Most bloggers who know stuff about blogging or have done research knows this fact well. Sometimes through experience and sometimes through being well informed. People need bullet points, they need bright pictures, and they need bolded words. For most teens, tweens, and, young adults they need stuff to stand out, for there to be subheadings just to get one interested. I remember like a year ago (I forgot what post) I was working on a post that I was very passionate about.  It was like 1,000 words and I really really cared about the subject. I thought it would be super popular but once I posted it I got like one comment and like 10 views. I was kind of heart broken but now I think I finally relize my mistake. It had no pictures and the subject was not something that would be interesting for the masses.

You can't become popular overnight

At first everyone (including me) definitely thought this. Write like five posts and then you will have people knocking at your door asking for a photograph. Not true! I have been blogging for basicly 4 years and I am still not that popular. Sometimes overnight sensations are a thing. But most times they are not and  all  most blogger probably know this by now.

Blog post ideas can come from anywhere and at the weirdest times

For reals! I actually get most of my blog post ideas at night or during school or when I am walking out and about. None of these are very helpful but true. And I get inspiration from the weirdest things. Like a sentence my sister says or a restaurant sign the title of a book. Notes on phones really come in handy for times like theses.

It takes about 10-20 photos to get 1 good one

It doesn't matter if we are talking about flat lay photos or outfit posts, this still applies. What most normal people don't relize that taking photos for posts actually takes a lot of times an effort. For like a flat lay post or one of those fall out of the bag pictures it is not just snap and done. You have to organize everything to look natural but clean and nice and adorable and color sensitive and bahh. And then for fashion bloggers when they have an outfit post I don't think anyone realizes what goes into that. It is not (normally) like well I look cute today and this is a nice backdrop dad takes 5 pics of me and done. It is more like what in the world looks cute on me and what is a backdrop in my house I haven't tried yet and dad take about 100 pictures of me.

I am done for now but comment down below if I should do a part 2. So for all of my bloggers out there do you guys relate to this at all? What is something that you have learned over your time as a blogger that you proably wouldn't have known otherwise?

Beauty from Ashes // Photo Diary + Buescher State Park + Pics of me in a Cat in the Hat shirt

Hello everyone! What's up with you guys? So over superbowl weekend to get away from everything (if you didn't know the super bowl was in Houston which is where I live. I watched like a quarter of the show game and the halftime show by lady gaga almost literally blew me away. She was amazing. I loved the energy.) I went camping at Buescher State Park which is about 2 hours away from where I live. I went with another family who we are friends with and my aunt and we just had a really good time so I have decided to show you guys some pictures that I took.

The title is inspired from the park history. A couple year ago the park that I went to went through a really big forest fire. I think it started from an electrical pole falling and it lasted for months. The fire lasted for a very long time. I think if I heard correctly maybe either the biggest or longest fire in texas.  So because of this some parts of the park are still a little bit burnt but it is truly just so bueatiful.

I am slightly in love with this picture.

The jungle of mystery. Dun dun dun.

As a photographer whenever I see someone else's photos I always admire and remember. I have noticed that reflection photos are a thing. So when I saw the way these trees bent I had to make it look perfect. I half succeeded but I am still very proud of this.

There was this moss stuff like everywhere. The green was so vibrant though. You can't really see it in this photo.

There was orange moss. I didn't know this before.

I'm bored *walks away from everyone and my life*

The trees will nearly surround you. Wait long enough and you will see eyes in the branches staring at you from behind.

The stump is now a new home for the mushroom things.

And as all good campers do we had a nice, cozy, and warm campfire going. Sitting by the campfire late at night is basically my favroite part of camping

I look like I am 6 in this photo. My cheeks are all puffy. I can't decide if I like it or not.

This was an accidental pose that I did not mean to do but I think it actually turned out ok.

Ok so if you know me or my blog you will come to relize that I am slightly obsessed with taking pictures of my shoes. I just like it. Sometimes they turn out ok and sometimes not. Tell me if this looks good at all.

The alleyway to the end of the world.

Looking at the ground or my hand. I can't really tell.

The bark is bright purple. We might have an alien problem on our hands.

Another picture of my bag. You know I am just realizing that you guys are proably getting really bored of seeing this bag. I have had it as long as I have had this blog (I might have had the blog longer) and this is basiclly the only purse I use.

I was squatting as I took this photo. I fell right after but it was kind of worth it.

Full outfit sitting on a long.

You can chain me, you can torture me, you can even destroy this body, but you will never imprison my mind.

-Mahatma Gandhi

Bye bye. I turn my back to you because now I must go to sleep. But before that I would love for you to maybe possibly follow my blog and comment if you have ever gone camping, if you like camping, and which of these photos you like the best. Love you! Bye!

What is Feminism? + A 12 year old's thoughts on some other hard topics + I try to be a fairy and fail

Hello everyone! Today I have decided to post about a semi kind of controversial subject so don't kill me. This is very important to me though so I decided to share my thoughts with you all today (if you want to watch the video where I basiclly prove that this is important to me you can go to this post). I hope you enjoy. :)

By definition Feminism is "the advocacy of women's rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes"  aka equality. That is all feminism means. It is the belief that one gender should not hold power over the other. Unlike what some other people think. Feminism has nothing to do with saying that girls are somehow better than guys.

To me this is how I think about it. The first part of the word is fe or fem which equals female or lady or girl. The second part of this word is min which I like to think equals men or guy. And the last part of the word is ism which by definition equals "a distinctive practice, system, or philosophy, typically a political ideology or an artistic movement." I like to think put together this means the movement or practice that shows that both guys and girls are equal on all levels of the social spectrum.

So many people get this word confused with man-hating or man-shaming or being biased against men. This is untrue.

Some people actually do get what it means but they put the word aside. This isn't my fight or why is this even a thing anymore.  And I mean hey I get there level of thinking. In america and so many developed countries where most of my readers proably live there isn't that big of a problem. True england has a lady prime minister (I feel like england seriously progressed faster than we did. They went from a monarchy to a girl president. The United States went from a democracy to a cheeto. Just saying), and true women have basicly the same opportunities as men and true we get to go to school and learn the same things as guys. All very mostly true.

Still in our community though women are looked down upon. One example of this is on our jobs. For every I think 1 dollar that a guy makes and girl makes about 75 cents. That is 3/4 the salary of a guy. 3/4! Does not make sense.

This reminds me of an article recently that I read regarding sports. If you are into soccer you might know about the U.S women's soccer team. I was looking up there wins and statistics and they are actualy kind of amazing.  They have won 3 women's world cups and are basically one of the most successful women's soccer team like ever.  Aka they are awesome. Now let's look at the men's U.S soccer team. I am not really sure what exactly they have won. Wikipedia is being freaking confusing.  Anyway they have won much less awards and tournaments and whatnot. But now let's look at the salaries of the 2 teams. This paragraph from this article basically says it.

"The Forbes Celebrity list has a number of male soccer players, but no women. The U.S. men’s team has a player who earns $6 million from his club (Michael Bradley of Toronto FC). The maximum salary for the women in the National Women’s Soccer League is $126,000 (but the details are complicated)."

Pretty much women are still payed less. And don't even get me started on how people actually treat women. I am just saying when a person of high office gets away with calling women horrible names on tape (like they have proof) and talking about them in a disgusting manner the world is still not equal.

Not everyone has to be a feminist or anything though. That's fine. After reading this though I want all of you guys to find a topic that you are very passionate about in our society. Maybe transgender rights, lgbt rights, education, etc. Something that you have strong feelings about and do something about it. Make a call, sign a petition, join a group, or just talk with someone.

But while you are doing this remember people do have feelings. Something that everyone deals with and is proably not very good at is respecting other people's opinions. Some people might disagree with something you say. When they do that don't get mad because that just makes your cause look kind of bad. Instead say that you respect their opinions. Everyone has a different vantage point and were raised differently.

I love all of my readers and people who comment on my blog so much and I hope you guys remember that. Every single thought that you had while reading this I want you to please please comment down below. Thank you!

Love // Because Nabila Decided She Wanted to be a Poet and Failed

I interrupt the regular broadcasting scedule for a special post on an interesting topic because Nabila has decided that she is is poet for the next 10 minutes.

Love is something interesting.
A magical mystery that science can't really contain or explain.

True love.
Something in movies where princesses in flowy pink dresses and princes dressed in their finest armor fall for each other at first glance.

Love is something rare.
Between 2 human beings.

Love grows with time.
Develops as you get to know each other.

And the heart is the center of it all.
Beating in your chest when you see someone new.

Someone in love might seem like a ghost
or
a spirit.

Love is not a choice but instead a thing in your mind and your heart.
Blurring your vision from the rest of the world.

Fall in love with someone new this valentine.
Or celebrate the ones already in your life.
Look at them for who they are good and bad qualities.

Love.

6 Reasons Why Bookworms Are The Best People

Hello peoples! How are you? I hope you are amazing. So today I was inspired to do another bookworm related post and explain to you guys exactly why bookworms are really just the best people. True there are some rare exceptions where there are some people who don't really like books who are absolutelly amazing but most of time not. So let's get started!

We have better words

No like seriously. Since we read more we know more words and so we know better words than the normal human. We also know how to write them correctly unlike some other people because we see the words and not just hear them.

We know more

With the whole reading constantly thing you pick up a few facts along the way. By reading I have learned some really interesting things. Some scary, some amazing, and some just weird. But still we know more.

We can always recommend a book

*In a commercial type voice* Are you bored? Do you want to be smarter? Go to your local bookworm and he/she will recommend the best book for you free of charge. *In regular voice* Since Bookworms read all the time we read so many different types of books and we know a book that would fit every single one of our friends.

We have a pretty good imagination

Since most books don't have movies we (as good readers) must imagine in our brains what the character and the world looks like, So we get quite good at it. Describe a characteristic of a person and we immediately get a picture in our brain.

We know to move on

When a favroite character in a book dies it is almost like a person in real life dies. Once you are truly invested in someone they seem like family. You know all about them. Since in many books a character or two dies we know how to deal with grief and eventually get over it. It is a very good skill to learn.

We know how to entertain ourselves

The stereotypical bookworm is almost always an introvert. Although this is not always true (I would definitely call myself an extrovert and a bookworm) most bookworms experience symptoms of being an introvert including being able to entertain ourselves. If a bookworm has a good book and they are alone in a room the bookworm can probably sit for hours.

Well I am done with that for now but how did you like it? Should I do more Bookworm related posts? Would you call yourself a bookworm? What is your favroite book? I love you guys and have an amazing day!
