Happy International Women's Day everyone! I actually originally had a different post scheduled for today but then I remembered it was women's day so I had to do something. If you didn't know already today is a day that you are supposed to celebrate women. It is also A Day Without Women where if you chose to do so and if you were a women of course you could have pretty much not worked to show that you cared for the cause. I was going to wear red (because that is also something you could have done) but I couldn't find any red accessories that I could wear with my school uniform. Anyway today I am listing 13 quotes by women for women. I hope these are inspiring and or thought provoking. By the way most of these are super random but I like them so deal with it.
Also none of these images are mine as I found most of them on pinterest. If they are yours and you would like attribution or for me to take it down please email me. Now let's get started!

And that is it!
I hoped you enjoyed and make sure to do something for national women's day. Slip on something red or just tell your mom how awesome she is. What did you do today?
I knew you wouldn't forget to post on International Women's Day. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about the phrase "The Ghost in the Shell". Yes, it's a llve-action movie after the excellent anime. And it's probably awful. But think of it. All of us are ghosts in our shells. We are spirits in a fragile package. There is something at the heart of us all that is neither male nor female. That essence defines us more clearly than any physical quality we possess. kind and loving or cruel and hateful, it is what we truly are.

Haha I would never forget (well I almost did but that is besides the point).
DeleteWow. That is deep and I so totally agree. We are all so fragile and deep inside we are just us and nothing else. Our defining qualities on the inside that make us who we are instead of the temporary qualities on the outside.

DeleteI think it's incredible that there are female figures who have done such good and harnessed their power to make the world better. Your post is important in inspiring other girls and boys on feminism and the importance of equality.
ReplyDeleteThese are some pretty powerful quotes!
Steph
Yeah all of these figures I very much look up to because of how they harnessed their power to do something good for our society.
DeleteThanks Steph!
These are amazing quotes, Nabila. I've often shied away from the feminism movement, just because I feel it's become too angry and demanding. But these quotes showed me that there are strong women out there that are feminists just because they want to be seen in the same way men are. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDelete-Sarah
Thanks Sarah! A lot of people don't really call themselves feminists for the reason that they think it is so angry. I am so so so happy that I could show you the the true meaning of feminism. :) Thank you for commenting!
