4th of July Photo Diary // Outfit, Ribbon Braid, and Explosives From 50 Years Ago

Oh Hi, peoples. It is like a bixxilion a clock (well actually it is 8:57 as I type this but I am tired from fishing) and I need to go to bed soon but I need to post. I said I would post every single day this summer and I will. Today annoyingly there were some setbacks with storms and no internet but it worked out in the end..... Hopefully. If you are reading this it worked. So yesterday was the 4th of July. My last two posts have been 4th of July themed and I am not breaking that now. I will tell you about my day and maybe how I did my hair and stories about blowing things up. All very good.

I did at first have my oddessy of the mind Captain America shirt on but I decided the colors were a bit much with the poke dot pants. So for my outfit, I paired my white bubble shirt, with my red and white poke dot pants, some converses with drawings on them, a blue necklace, and a cute braid. 

This is not related to anything but I saw this leaf when we were playing some game in what seemed the middle of nowhere the other day and I thought it was pretty. 

I just realized that both the pants and the shirt used to be my moms. Is this a bad thing? Like I can fit into my mom's clothes. 

So I went to my friend's house a couple days and she is super into doing nails (It is kind of weird but she is good at it and I am not so I can't talk) and she did this cute red, white, and blue pattern on my nails. The necklace is actually new and I absolutely love it. We went to a cool rock type museum (I forgot the name) with facts about fossils and different kind of rocks. Rocks kind of bore me but it was pretty interesting. They had a gift shop and one of the things in it was this necklace. Because I have like the best grandmother in the world she bought it for me. 

My grandmother is one of the most creative people on the planet so I just showed her a picture and she did this with my hair. Basically what you have to do is get 3 pieces of string and tie them at the top and then braid it along with your hair. I love how this turned out. Just look up ribbon braid to find out more about it. 

On the 4th of July (I am staying at grandparents house) we didn't do much but we had dinner (that I forgot) and then we went outside and sang songs until our lungs died. And you know... It got dark. Then we did sparklers. I would have liked to see fireworks but I have seen that before and my grandfather told a bunch of stories about when he was a kid (including one where he destroyed like the whole front of his house) and I kind of loved listening to him. 

Then he got out this really old box and I soon realized it was full of firecrackers and explosive type stuff from when my dad was a kid. There were a lot fewer regulations when my dad was a kid, to say the least. So he got one of them out (I am not sure what it was) and lit it and it basically exploded. It wasn't like big or anything and it didn't hurt anything but it was very cool.   

My dad is forcing me to go to bed. Annoying dad. Tell me in the comments if you liked my outfit and also what you did for the 4th of July! Goodnight. :)

3 Trends Right Now That When You Think About It Are Just Weird

I am the boss of this whole make the title as long as you possibly can thing. I mean I feel like I should get the award for making my post titles so long. Truly. OK now on to the post.

Trends. It doesn't matter if you love them or hate them. They will always be there. The things that are popular that everyone has. The things on Instagram that look so cool. The things talked about in that article in that magazine. A couple years ago things like (at least for me) rainbow loom and those bracelets that made shapes (I was obsessed with those things). A lot of times trends can be quite weird. Not that anyone really notices. In this post, I am going to round up 3 trends/things that are super popular at the moment that when you think about it are quite weird. Note this is not be hating on any of these things because I love them as well just pointing out there weirdness.

Chokers

Just the name. Like chokers? I feel like it would choke me. Let me remind you to choke is supposed to be bad. Like extra bad. Like you can die from it bad. Like hands around neck suffocating bad. I mean think about it. If you don't know chokers are basically necklaces that go really lightly around your neck. They are very adorable I must admit but also kind of weird.

I legit only have one/kind of two chokers and I am kind of annoyed about it. 

Slime

If you asked anyone 10 years ago what they thought about slime they would say how disgusting it is. Slime is supposed to be that icky stuff that you find on animals skin or in other parts of nature (I think). My sisters are seriously obsessed with slime. I guess I kind of get it. It is fun to make and then fun to play with. But it is also very messy and gets stuck like everywhere. A better thing would be to get some thinking putty from the store and play with that.

Cactus

You know that prickly stuff you find in the desert that you are not supposed to touch? Yeah, people really love those things. Like in their homes. I love the little succulent plants as well. They are cute and look nice. They can grow pretty much anywhere and multiply really fast and they need almost no maintenance. They are the perfect plant is our world where people want fast and easy plants to make a place look good and green. Yes, they are cool and practical but still weird. Although not all of these plants are pokey a lot of them are and you could literally get hurt. 

My mom loves all of these types of plants so we have like ten million of them. 

This post was so short. Sorry. Like I thought it would be cool post idea but then when I went about writing it I had fewer ideas of what to put in the post but because I am me and I lazy I just went with it. Sorry. Haulternative 2hand #FashionRevolution

Hello peoples! Today I am back with a fashion haul type post. You might not know this but this past week was Fashion Revolution week which is this super cool thing that is trying to make so many things better in fashion industry. Because I thought this was so cool I have decided to join in and do a haulternitive post which pretty much means a haul but without buying a bunch of new clothes from some new big store.

Recently I read a book called Uprising by Margaret Haddix. It was seriously amazing. The book was about the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire. After reading this book I went online because it had caught my attention. I looked up some other factory disasters and also living conditions for the average worker in a 3rd world country. I was kind of amazed. That's when I found Fashion Revolution which is trying to change all of this. Besides the whole living things the fashion industry at the moment is seriously hurting our environment. It takes the equivalent of how much water you would drink in 3 years to make one single t-shirt. Like wow.

My mom is super into thrifting or buying old clothes from things like garage sales or thrift stores. It is basically reusing clothes. So yesterday we went to a cool garage sale the church near my house put on. I got a couple things that I am absolutelly obsessed with so I have decided to share them with you in this haulternitive 2hand post. Enjoy!

*Note I am not sure if this really counts because it is less clothes and more earrings and some shoes but I am going with it.

I am so in love with these shoes right now. When I saw them laying on the floor I could not resist at all. I have seen stuff like this before and I loved them then. They are like these converse boot things. I am not really sure. But my friend said they were so "me" when she saw me wearing them yesterday. 

Someone just gave this book to me. It was pretty cool. I have actually not read the artemis fowl series. I think I have listened to the first one but other then that nothing. I am looking forward to maybe possibly reading the series. 

These earrings are like heart peace signs. Aka they are two of my favroite things combined.  have almost no earrings and these are quite small so I can easily wear them to school.

They are owls! I have wanted owl earrings almost forever so when I saw them I was like yes. I ahve to get these. Thye are silver sparkly owl with the types of backs that make them harder to fall off. 

These are more heart earrings because I like hearts ok. They have these cool designs in the middle though that I love.  The earrings are a tiny bit bigger then the other ones but still so cute.

Yes I do relize these are to big and not really appropriate for my age but you have to deal with it. I have wanted earrings like this for longer than I have wanted anything thing else in this post. And then I got them for a dollar and they are so amazing.

Daughter of a Sailor

I have not done a fashion post (meaning pictures of me in clothing) in like forever (you can find my most recent one here). So since I was feeling very bueatiful last sunday I decided to get my dad to get a couple pictures of me. 

To get my hair all wavy like that I take a shower and then right after I put it in a braid and let my hair dry that way. After my hair is fully dry I take it out of the braids and it looks like that. 

The jacket is really my moms (me and my mom are like the exact same size). It is a grey jacket that is super smooth and I really like it. 

My dress is super soft and is this bueatiful color of purple. Little green/white sailboats are plastered all over it. It fits me really well and it just kind of makes me feel pretty. 

My leggings are sparkly and quite adorable. I got them for my birthday (You can see the rest of the stuff that I got for my birthday here).

I love my boots. They are these black combat boots that my grandmother got me for thanksgiving/christmas. I have been wearing them almost everyday since I got them.
