My Most Popular And My Favorite Blog Posts of 2018

I like posts like this especially from bloggers I found recently so that I can catch up on their old posts and also see from a bloggers perspective which posts are there favorite. It's really interesting at least to me haha. I think a lot of time people surprise you. In this post, I'm going to be sharing my most popular and also my favorite posts from 2018!
Most Popular:

My annual art car parade post which of course includes lots of art and cool cars and crazy people. People always seem to love my random posts with lots of photos and I'm just like lol why.

Some of my fave teen bloggers! This post did surprisingly well, especially on Pinterest. I might have to do a part two. :)

As you can tell from the title I shared a bunch of insta accounts I was loving! Basically what I am learning from this post is that y'all like suggestions! Maybe I'll do youtube or something next haha.

This was my post after parkland and I basically just poured out my heart and thoughts and mind. It was kind of emotional and I think it made people think. The comments were really good.

Lots of sites that I use and love that will send you free stuff with or without a big following online! This post would have been really helpful to me in the past and I hope it is to other people.

Aww yes, my birthday wishlist. Pretty much me listing about a thousand products I wanted while saying cute I think at least 12 times. It was a fun post.

One of my more helpful posts if I do say so myself. I list 11 super easy ways to make money solely online even as a younger person!

That post was actually a collab with the wonderful Anika and I think it's the only collab on this list.

This post was basically everything I had learned in the past two years put into a post and I remember it making me really happy when I wrote it. It's basically all of my tips to just be happier. Some of them are duh but I hope others really make you think. :)

I've done a summer bucket list for the past three years (you can look at 2017 and 2016 if you want) and I actually really like doing them. I don't do goals by month but with summer there is so much free time so I think it's good to have a bucket list set out beforehand.

I have always been shy about the music I liked because I honestly didn't really like anyone?? I had a Taylor Swift phase but once she disappeared for that 3 years I didn't have a favorite and I just listened to general pop. Recently though I've found some new musicians I love so so so much and this post is me sharing that with you!! If you like Dodie or Conan Gray or Bea Miller you will like the songs on that list. :)

My Favorite:

I'm going to do the favorites by month. :)

January:
-Everyone Has a Story aka a poetry type post which I think is very thought provoking
or
-My 2017 recap which I like because I think it sums up my year really well

or

I think both of those are and can be really helpful. :)

March:
How Are You? aka a super dark but I think an interesting post and an example of my weird head and writing
or
Enough is Enough which is the one about the shooting that I talked about earlier

or
Disconnected, Things I Need To Learn, and I Remember which are three very personal poetry type posts.

August:
I can't decide at all! I posted so much in August! And there are a lot of good posts. Or maybe they're all just super mediocre. I don't know. The one y'all seemed to like was the photo diary I did of Greenville. I think you guys liked it because all of the pictures are pretty and I did a pretty good job of describing everything we did.

This post where I talked lots about change which I actually love so so much
or
The collab I did with Kenzie about books because it's both Kenzie and books and what could get better than that

November:
Top 10 Tips For Instagram Everyone Should Know where I share a bunch of (I hope helpful!!) insta tips

My 5 Year Blogiversary post because I just generally freaked out and had a good time and gave lots of shoutouts to lovely individuals which I hope made them happy

December:
Sites That Will Send You Free Stuff Even If You Have A Small Following because once again I think it could be super helpful
or
A Weekend In New Orleans which just includes so many good memories

2019 Goals

If you missed my last two posts you might not have heard that I said I was going to be sharing with y'all some of my 2019 goals! I think it's nice to set goals for yourself so that you know what you want to accomplish. :)

*side note there are like 3 different types of photos in this post but it's cool we're accepting in this household

-Post at least once a month on Youtube + get to 150 subscribers

Especially with starting high school I'm not sure how active I can be on youtube but I still want to try. Plus because I don't know how much I'm going to be posting I don't expect to grow that much. I currently have 120 subscribers so 150 is only gaining 30 which I think I reasonable.

-2,500 Instagram Followers

I haven't been growing much on insta lately??? But I really really want to?? I've had insta for a little more than a year and I have 1,500 so I think another 1k in a year is manageable??

-Post on my blog at least once a week

I think I've talked about this before but with high school, I'm really scared I'm going to be a lot less active on here but I don't want to be and ahhhhh. I am going to post at least once a week though hopefully.

-Think about the gifts I give people

I've realized I actually really enjoy giving people gifts but a lot of times I put it off till the last minute, especially for birthdays. I want to stop doing that.

-Figure out Pinterest

I have read soooooo many times and have been told sooooo many times by other bloggers that Pinterest is one of there main traffic sources. It's not that for me and I want to figure out why and what I can do to change it. Basically, I need to put some time into it. I would appreciate suggestions!!

-Do something to my hair

Just some kind of change. Maybe cut it a bit shorter or dye it a different color or maybe even just straighten it for once. I've been having the urge to change up my hair for a while.

-Decorate my room and appreciate it and all of the new house things

Sometime this year we're going to be moving into our new house!!! I'm going to have my own room and it's actually going to be new (which I've never had before) so I get to pick everything out and basically I just want to do a good job.

-Have a good start to high school and join things

I've mentioned high school so many times in this post but I'm scared y'allllll. Like. It's a lot. You guys are probably rolling your eyes at me like wow Nabila I'm in college shut up but like ahhhhhhhh. I want to make an effort to join things and try all of the things. And also make some new friends!!

-Take around a water bottle with me everywhere

I have decided water bottles are the key to drinking a lot of water. They are basically magic. Soooooo I want to get a cute one that I actually like and try bringing it with me more places! One place I definitely need to bring a water bottle to is school, but I never have because I don't want to carry it lol.

-Use a calendar

I've always loved calendars and the thought of being organized but I never have really done it??? Which is super bad?? Going to high school and also being a blogger + youtuber I need to get my calendar game up. A lot of people have content calendars which I've also never done. I want to start scheduling everything.

-Think about + learn about starting a photography business

I've been wanting to do this for the longest time! It would just be so cool. One thing holding be back is because I don't have a legit camera except for my phone and I thought people wouldn't take me seriously. This is probably actually true so I should probably also work on getting a legit camera.

-Figure out another income for myself/think about jobs + general money things

I've been making some money online (you can find out how to do that yourself here) and I want to work on that more and find new ways. Maybe something along the lines of an online course?? Or maybe a coach?? Or I would love to sell graphics?? I also want to reach out to more people about babysitting and just explore all of the money job optionsssss. Also bank account?? That's a thing?? Look at that maybe??

-Read 40 books

I only read 38 books this year and it one hundred percent killed me. My reading has been down sooooooooooo down and if I don't read at least 40 books this year I will be kind of mad at myself so I'm putting it as a goal.

-Travel somewhere new

Traveling is something that makes me so so so so happy and traveling and exploring a new place makes me even happier. :) Plus I'm pretty sure I'm going to be able to complete this goal this summer (stay tuned for updates!!).

-Keep writing letters to people

I've been writing lots of letters to people and just doing general pen pal/snail mail things lately and it has made me soooo happy. I want to continue that in the new year.

-Have an A/B average in all classes + survive finals

My goal is to usually have an A average in all classes but with algebra and high school, I've decided no haha. I had midterms lately and I got kind of low B's for both of my high school credit classes and it's very not good (side note this is kind of bad for me personally but I know they are actually good grades and that could be so great for other people don't come at me). I need to study extra super duper hard for finals.

That's all for now! You can find two of my other goal posts here and here.

I would love to read some of your new years resolutions/goals. Comment them down below!

Looking Back On My 2018 Goals

I've done posts like this the past two years and I'm not going to stop now! At the beginning of the year, I think it's nice to look back on what you have accomplished in the past year and how you're goals have changed and everything. Today we're going to be looking back at my 2018 goals and see what I have gotten done and what I just haven't. :) I also did a post in the middle of the year looking back on these goals! If you want, you can go read that one first to see what has changed and everything. Before we start I just realized it's Coptic Christmas when I will be posting this?? That's pretty cool?? I'm not Coptic but my grandparents are so they will be celebrating. Merry Coptic Christmas if you celebrattttttte. Ok now onto the goals. :)
The Goals:

-Get to 150 followers on Bloglovin'
-Have 125 followers with Google Friend Connect
-Reach 400 followers on Instagram
-Read 100 books
-Start thinking about and working towards getting into a fabulous high school
-Keep posting on here weekly
-Upload at least 5 videos to my YouTube channel
-Not be too scared to try new things
-Be content and always try to look on the bright side
-Join another club
-Start enjoying exercise and walking more
-Grow my blog and start working with more people
-Travel somewhere new
-Start babysitting or doing some kind of job

How did I do?

-Get to 150 followers on Bloglovin'
Done! I have 181 followers on Bloglovin' currently. :)

-Have 125 followers with Google Friend Connect
I'm sadly 5 off for this one! I have 120

-Reach 400 followers on Instagram
Done done done and more done! Currently at 1,512. I think I grew a lot more than I thought I would haha. If you're not already following me on insta it would make me super happy if you coulddddd.

-Read 100 books
Definitely failed this one. :( I didn't even complete my Goodreads goal of 50. *cries* I sometimes forget to write down when I complete a book but according to Goodreads, I've read 37 books this year. I've read a lot less this past year and it makes me kind of sad.

-Start thinking about and working towards getting into a fabulous high school
Done! I've decided where I'm going to high school and currently I'm happy with my decision. :)

-Keep posting on here weekly
Done! I even posted two times a week for a while there (I have less time now but that might start back up again sometime). I haven't missed a week at all this year. :)

-Upload at least 5 videos to my YouTube channel
I uploaded 26 videos in 2018 to my channel!

-Not be too scared to try new things
Maybe half?? I think I have been saying yes to more things but not as a drastic change.

-Be content and always try to look on the bright side
Yep! Of course not always but in general I would say I was pretty content last year.

-Join another club
Yep yep yep! National Junior Honor Society and Karate.

-Start enjoying exercise and walking more
Yeah no. :( I need to find some kind of exercise I like doing or someone to do it with maybe. I have been healthier though! I was a lot more conscious of my food.

-Grow my blog and start working with more people
I haven't grown my blog that much but I have been growing my other channels. And I have definitellllllly been working with more people.

-Travel somewhere new
New Orleans! It was really fun. :)

-Start babysitting or doing some kind of job
I've been working for my mom actually! Doing design and chart stuff for her business.

I completed 11/14! I would say that's pretty good. :)
What were some of your 2018 goals? How did you do in accomplishing them?

Looking Back On My Goals For This Year

We’re not exactly in the middle of the year but it's close by so it’s still ok. I’ve seen a bunch of bloggers do posts about looking back on seeing what they have completed new years goals wise and I thought it was so fun and a great motivator to finish the goals you haven’t. I honestly haven’t looked at my goals in at least 4 months (I know I’m terrible don’t judge me lol) so this will probably flop and make me look like I have accomplished nothing but I’m doing it anyway. Honestly, I’m not sure why. All right let’s get started already haha. :)
-Get to 150 followers on Bloglovin

Done which makes me so so happy! I currently have 158 Bloglovin’ followers which is even more than my goal and it’s not even the end of the year so go me haha. :)

-Have 125 followers with Google Friend Connect

Nope I have 110 followers for that which basically means I haven’t grown at all. *cries* The Bloglovin’ thing makes ups for it though I think. :)

-Reach 400 followers on Instagram

Done done done and more done! I now have over 1,000 followers on Instagram which still blows my mind. Like whatttttttttttt. Instagram makes me really happy and if you’re not following me already it would make me super happy if you could. :)

-Read 100 50 books

Nope. And I’ve decided I just don’t read that much. Instead going along with my Goodreads challenge I’m changing it to 50! I have read 26 books this year (at the point I’m writing this) which is 52% of 50 so I’m actually a bit behind for my tastes but I’m sure I’ll catch up with the rest of the summer.

-Start thinking about and working towards getting into a fabulous high school

Done. Kind of. I’ve pretty much decided where I want to apply which is all I can do currently.

-Keep posting on here weekly

I have of course done this so far! Haven’t missed one week. :)

-Upload at least 5 videos to my YouTube channel

I am going above and beyond for this one since this summer I am posting every Saturday on my youtube channel!

-Not be too scared to try new things

Kind of????? I’m saying half for this.

-Be content and always try to look on the bright side

Honestly, I think I’ve been doing this. Not all the time of course (even though I act/seem like a magical fairy happy princess I’m not one) but overall I’ve been being super positive this year!

-Join another club

Yeppppp. National Junior Honor Society!

-Start enjoying exercise and walking more

Haha nope. I’m also low key really out of shape so I really really should be exercising and I tell that to myself all the time but it never happens and just ahhhhhh you know?

-Grow my blog and start working with more people

I would say done. I have grown my blog a bit and I’ve been working with a lot more people including other bloggers and also brands!

-Travel somewhere new

Not so far and I probably won’t but I think I’m going to change this goal to explore new things in my own city!

-Start babysitting or doing some kind of job

Nope nope nope and more nope. I tell everyone I can babysit but I think people don’t like me seriously you guys. If you happen to live near me and ever need anyone to babysit or do pretty much anything else I can do (think photography or design) PLEASE CONTACT ME I’M A NICE PERSON I SWEAR.

So I've only completed 6 out of 13 and that's less than half which kind of makes me sad. Like ahhhhh I feel like I'm failing. But it's ok I guess haha.

What were some of your goals for this year? How have you been doing in completing them?

2018 Summer Bucket List

I am officially out of school for summer AND AHHHH SO EXCITED ABOUT IT!! This also means I have finished 7th grade and will be going to 8th grade next year. That means thinking about high school and being the biggest peeps on campus and worrying about tests.... BUTTT before that happens I have 3 months off which I am pretty happy about it. I have done summer bucket lists in the past and I personally liked them so why not do another one this year?? This could be a good way to get inspo for your own list or maybe just a way to hold me accountable haha. Let's get started!
1. Go hiking at least once. I have learned that I actually really like hiking mainly from going to Marfa a lot. I don't typically like going outside that much but I have enjoyed hiking when I've been in the past. My thing is that it can't be that hot and it can't be crazy long.
2. Invite friends over frequently. I want to make an effort to hang out with more friends this year. I've made a lot of new friends this past year even if we're not super close but I want to change that. I think I get scared to invite friends over if I've never hung out with them before because I'm scared they will say no. I'm going to try to get over that and invite some new friends.
3.  Eat healthily. For a while, I had a thing going with eating healthy but it has kind of gone downhill in the past month. Especially since I'll have more time over the next few months I really want to try to get back into that habit of just choosing the healthy thing even if it is a bit harder.
4. Post every/every other Saturday on my youtube channel. This summer I'm going to commit to working on my youtube channel and just growing it. I really like youtube and so far I've had a lot of fun with it. I don't think it will ever be my main channel (#bloggerforlife) though so don't get scared or anything. If you would like I just recently uploaded two videos, a room tour and a fun best friend tag, and it would make me super happy if you could check out both!
5. Post either every day/every other day on Instagram. Fun fact I recently hit 1k on my insta and it made me super happy! When I first got an account I posted literally every day. Yes, the posts weren't the absolute best but they were still ok. With summer I want to try to post every day again but this time hopefully with some better posts.
6. Make the most out of/have fun at the camps I'm going too. This summer I'm going to two camps. Number one an Algebra camp I have to go to so that I can take Algebra next year. Probably boring but I'm trying to be not so sour about it. Second an engineering campo at where my dad teaches. I'm pretty excited about that one. My dad said they do stuff like program robots and do cool experiments which I think will be super cool. Kind of annoyingly I will be one of the youngest people there so I'm not sure how that will go???
7. Commit to Girl Boss Teen Tribe. I've mentioned it on here but I'm part of an awesome group of girls where we share tips on our blog,  do features on Instagram,  and we're starting an email list! Over this past year, I haven't been doing much to help honestly but I really want to work on it this summer.
8. Decide what I'm going to do with this blog. I have been saying for a while that this summer I would change to WordPress but now I'm not sure?? Is it worth it?? How exactly would I do that?? Even if I don't move to WordPress I do want to change up my design a bit. Plus I really want to get my own domain and possibly change the name. I don't at all have a plan so I need to make one and then execute it. If I do end up changing to Wordpress I'll probably need help doing that so if anyone wants to help please contact me haha.
9. Do at least 5 collabs. I love collabs because I get to interact with others and get content in front of a new audience so I really really want to do. Plus I want to do some that aren't just on my blog like maybe on Youtube or Instagram. If you do want to collab again please contact me!
10. Say yes and be present. Just be open to new things and experiences and surroundings. Get in some maybe uncomfortable situations. I never do that. Like ever. If there is even a chance I could be wrong or something could go wrong I won't do it. I want to try to change that. If I never take risks I won't ever get anywhere. I realize that but I don't ever really act on it. I'm going to try and change that this summer.

What's something fun you're doing this summer? What's on your bucket list? What kind of posts do you want to see from me this summer? Do you want to collab (contact me!!)?

My Goals For Fall

I am a whole month late for fall AND IT'S KIND OF KILLING ME. Last year I am not even kidding I did 10-15 fall-related posts but this year I am behind. When I was coming up with this post I was thinking of fall blog post ideas but it seems like I have already done all of them. Like seriously. I even have a post with 31 blog post ideas and I still couldn't think of anything. Finally, I decided to list some of my goals for fall even though I'm like a month late. Actually though even though I count fall as October and September, officially fall starts at the end of September and ends sometime in December so I'm not like that late. Kind of. Maybe. I don't know.

doctor who confused david tennant uncomfortable anyway GIF

Let's get started!

1. Get a pretty fall photo

I mean you can't go through fall without getting some kind of orangy leaf photo. I love fall colors and I kind of want to just have a full fall photoshoot.

This photo is originally found in this post.

2. Carve a pumpkin

Or at least have a pumpkin somewhere. The insides of the pumpkin are actually kind of disgusting but the outcome is cool.

3. Make a fall-themed video on my channel

I started a youtube channel recently and most of the videos are kind of terrible but they are improving. Kind of. But I'm thinking of doing like a 5 cute and comfy fall outfit ideas video. Comment down below if you like that idea!

4. Get into student council
I have been wanting to do student council since I knew it was a thing and I already applied now I just have to wait and figure out if I got in.

5. Survive UIL

This year I am in the theatre UIL class and even though it's super cool I'm also very very scared about it. UIL is basically like a competition and they have it for pretty much everything from sports to academics including theatre. I was cast as an understudy but a couple weeks ago my teacher told me that if we were to go on in the competition then I would actually be the one acting and its like super confusing.

6. Play in the leaves

This is so steryotypecly fall but it's also something that I like really want to do. In Houston weather wise it's pretty much fall until spring but leaf wise it's almost like none of the leaves change color and if they do it's usually because they are dead or at least look dead so we almost never get the cool leaf changing color pile thing. It's kind of annoying.

7. Read more books than usual

I feel like fall should be that cozy season where you curl up with a good book, a blanket, and a mug of hot herbal tea. For me, that is like my dream so I'm going to try to read more. During the summer I got super behind on my reading but with school and also Name That Book coming up I really need to read more.

8. Do Halloween

What I mean by this is actually get a costume and go trick or treating. With Harvey, everything is a lot more complicated but I am pretty sure we are going to go trick or treating although I'm still not sure what I am going to wear.

9. Do some kind of fall DIY

I did this garland thing last year and I am not even kidding I just haven't taken it down. Since I am in a new house though and a new room and I want to do something else and also just make the room more festive. Comment down below what DIY you think I should do!

10. Be more conscious of what I eat

I have been trying to be a lot more healthy lately and I would say I am partly succeeding but I want to try to continue that into this new season. I love food but sometimes that can lead to me eating a lot of food and not even realizing how much or not realizing the flavor so I also want to slow down when I eat.

11. Get a fall sweater

Sadly during the flood, I lost all of my jackets and sweaters which kind of annoyed me. One of my friends is letting me borrow one of her hoodies for things like school but I really want one of those cozy and big fall sweaters. In case you like, know me in real life and want to buy me a present this is a fabolous idea.

12. Eat lots of soup

Soup is by far one of my favorite types of food PRETTY MUCH EVER and it is perfect for the cooler months. Soup is simple, makes you warm, and can also be super healthy since a lot of soups are vegetarian but also taste amazing.

I love fall so much, it is by far one of my favorite seasons for just about ten million reasons. Haha. Make sure to follow my blog using either the little button to the left side of this post or using Bloglovin'.

What is your favorite season? Do you enjoy fall? What are some of your goals for fall? What is your favorite thing about fall?
