March For Our Lives

Hello! As you guys should know the March For Our Lives was recently and of course I went! I'm going to be doing more personal/lifestyle posts in the future (or at least I'm going to try) and I thought this would be a perfect start! Here are some of my favorite signs and what I did!

Annnndddd I did a vlog as well which I would absolutely love if you could check out!!

"When your leaders act like children and your children act like leaders you know change is coming." TRUTH

Ok so after the march there was a little rally thing with speakers and stuff. These two guys started singing and at first I didn't recognize what they were singing and THEN I REALIZED THEY WERE SINGING FOUND/TONIGHT AKA ONE OF THE BEST THINGS AND I KIND OF FREAKED OUT. I wish I had gotten that on video because I think I actually screamed. It was so so good!

I mean when laws that could have been passed that would have saved lives were stopped because of you that does kind of mean there is blood on your hands. Just saying.

There was a lot of people there and it was so cool to see everyone!

Students: What's more important to you, children's lives or an assault weapon?
NRA: ummmmmm

This is definitely one of the best signs because I feel like it's so true which is terrible.

There were these people dressed as people from the handmaids tale which I have course not watched but I looked it up and I thought it was cool people dressed up like people from it.

These super cute high school girls who were there representing there school!

Ok look itsssssss meeeeeee.

It's lydddddddddiiiiiaaaaaa. I found this guy so comical. If you can't see he has the NRA on the bad list and march for our lives on the good list. Plus he dressed up like santa and it wasn't necessarily warm but it definitely wasn't cold in the slightest so he must have have been burning.

My little sis is the cutest thing y'allllll

Me, my little sis, and my friend Lydia who some of y'all might remember from other posts.

"People say that the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy with a gun but that just seems like someone trying to sell more guns. " I found it online and thought it was pretty coolio.

If this is not the cutest and best sign I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS.
Hellllooooooo. Again I did a vlog for the march which you can find here! I would absolutely love it if you guys could subscribe to my channel!

Did you go to the march? Have you ever been to a march? Do you like posts like this? What kind of posts do you want to see?

Enough Is Enough

So, I was having some feelings the other day
So, I was like
Oh, why don't I write a post
So here are my feelings

As everyone should know
There was a shooting recently
At a high school in Florida
17 innocent people died

The really truly sad thing
Is that
Well I'm not that shocked
By that sentence at all

Honestly when I first heard the news
I was sad of course
And crazy annoyed
But was I surprised?
Or think it was maybe out of the ordinary?
Not really

BECAUSE IT IS NOT
12 school shootings already this year
Like that makes so much sense
You know the US only has 5% of the population
And 43% of the guns if I remember correctly
And guess what
It also has one of the biggest deaths by firearms

So, I was looking up recently
Why this shooting was being talked about so much more
And longer than the others
And I found an article
That I can't find anymore
But it was talking about how
The reason is
Really because of the students

Of people like Emma Gonzales
Who gave this crazy amazing speech
And all the students who went to Parkland
And all the students around the country

Who are standing up
And organizing walkouts
And marches
And just everything
SO CRAZY INSPIRING
Like seriously
Fun fact did a walkout at my school!

And this might be just me being like overly optimistic
But I'm one of those people
Who isn't ever that optimistic
Without proof or logic
But I really do think
Some things will change
And that is so crazy amazing!!
Because things do need to change

The gunman
Was 19
Why was a 19 year old allowed to have a gun???????
And one with a record of bad behavior
Like ummmmm what???
So, he pulled the fire alarm
And then walked out with the other students
I must say kind of smart actually
And now 17 more people are dead

Yes, the right to bear arms
Is in the Constitution
But see those guns
Could fire what like one bullet a minute
Yeah some of ours now can fire 45
The guns have changed
And now the laws should as well

That Monday after the shooting
In my theatre class
The teacher sat us down
And she talked what to do in an intruder drill
We already knew but she was going over it

And people kept asking questions like
Well what if someone is pointing a gun at you
Or how would we escape the room if we had to
And my teacher answered honestly
Which was amazing
She's amazing
But it made me sad

And then one student
Decided to ask
If the teacher would put herself in the line of fire
For a student
And my teacher said yes
Without any thought
Because she said it was her job

Like why do we have to have these conversations????
WHY IS THAT EVER SOMETHING A TEACHER SHOULD HAVE TO THINK ABOUT?
I'm like kind of tearing up
You know just a bit

Oh and then guess what Trump says
He says we should then arm teachers
So that they can you know protect people
HOW STUPID CAN YOU GET

I know he doesn't believe in science or any statistics
But it has been proven so many times over
That more guns
Equal more death
And that a good guy with a gun
Does not defeat a bad one
Just sayin

But then I was also having a conversation
With someone in my class
Who is smart
And he was saying
How he couldn't decide if the arming teachers thing
Was good or not
I like flipped out on him
But that also made me realize
This maybe isn't like an all-around held opinion
Even with people who are for gun reform

Oh, and while I was talking to him
This other guy interjected
And said something for guns
I forgot what it was
And me being me
Started saying how he was wrong
And explaining facts and probably just being like super annoying lol
And then he stopped, saying how he didn't want to talk about something
If his opinion wouldn't be respected
That honestly interested me so much

Summary:
Change needs to happen
This was sad
Participate and help in any way you can

Thoughts and prayers aren't enough
                                                                                                                                 -2/23

Edit: Trump actually started talking about something against guns and stuff??? I'm surprised?? And like confused?? But this is good I guess???

                                                                                                                                -3/4

Yeah as you can see I have some feelings LOL. I really want to know everyone’s thoughts and everything so comment them down below!!

What did you think when you first heard the news? What are your thoughts on the whole gun subject in general? Have you participated in any walkouts or anything like that in your school or community?

Everything Is Here For Reason

This photos has everything to do with this post. Everything.
This thought was actually sparked at a Walmart I went to recently. We were walking around and I was basically drooling at the school supplies because I love school supplies. I was noticing that a lot of the things said things like “Be Yourself” or something like that. The US is a very “you” country. There is a more scientific name for this that I can’t spell at the current moment but that's ok. What I mean by this is that we are very proud of ourselves and it matters what “you” do and less what a “team” does. I had like the best History Teacher in the entire world last year and he did a lesson on this and it was really cool.
So this made me think of something my mom told me a couple years ago. I forgot exactly why but I remember it to this day. My mom is a pretty wise person. She was telling me how everything is made and created for a reason. Actually I remember now. I think I was complaining about cockroaches and how they didn’t do anything good. Sh explained to me that I was entirely wrong. In our homes they are just annoying but out in they wild they have a job just like every other living thing. What that job is I have forgotten and I’m not going to look it up because I admit I’m lazy.
But if you think about it. She was right. This reminds me of science and the food chain. If only one species dies or grows bigger or smaller in some way the whole food chain changes and could stop working. It just won’t work. Humans are interesting though. I’m not sure what we do. Most of the time we just destroy other animals and ecosystems and other systems and lives. We really need to be more careful about that.
Even though humans to the environment are kind of failing, in our lives we are pretty important. I’m not sure if I totally believe this but I feel like we are all here for a reason. In the Hugo movie, which I watched recently, Hugo, the main character, talked about how in a machine there are no extra pieces. Everything is there for a reason. So if the world was a big machine he couldn’t have been and extra part and he had to be there for a reason. He was kind of sad but really smart little boy.
Not everyone’s going to become president or a star or an internet sensation but you don’t have to be any of those things to make a difference. Any regular person can make a difference in the world. It could be becoming friends with someone who sad and literally saving a life. Or it could be just having a conversation with someone that makes them think about something that changes everything for them. It could be being a teacher and inspiring a student to pursue there dreams. It could also falling in love with someone and changing your and there lives forever.
You know even pain is here for a reason, which is also something my mom said. As I have said before, I have a pretty cool mom. I have never experienced really bad pain like some people have so this is probably easier to say for me but it is true. This is the example my mom told me when I did not understand what she was saying one bit. She said that if your hand is on something hot you would probably pull away because you can feel the heat. Butttt what if you can’t feel it, you could burn your hand which could literally destroy your hand forever.
A lot of people try to do things like lets say get a job or become friends with someone. Sometimes it is just luck because the world is not fair but thats not a very happy way to think about. Instead we can  think about it like Katy Perry once said in a pretty awesome song. One of the lines in her song Firework which is by the way amazing is this “Maybe a reason why all the doors are closed, so you can open one that leads you to a perfect road”. Not everyones life is going to be perfect because as I said not everything is fair but if you think like that you will be a million times happier. If something doesn’t work out it probably happened because that was not the right thing for you.
The only thing I haven’t found a reason for is mosquitos. Like seriously. Are they here to remind us how evil we are or something???? Because I can’t find another reason. They are just annoying little things that spread diseases and make it hard to go outside and bite you. This post was so calm and collected and then I had to say that. I regret nothing. Absolutelly nothing.

And that was 831 words about an important topic. Kind of. I feel proud of myself. I’m also 12. Bet you didn’t guess that if you didn’t know me already. Boom! I am one of the nerdiest 12 years olds on the planet which you might disagree with but wait. I realized this the other day when I was legit having a conversation about discrimination and things like that over text with one of my friends the other day. And we were sending full on paragraphs to each other and it was a lot of fun. I’m not sure what type of nerd that is but it's a thing. Soooooo did you like this post? If you did I would absolutely love if you could maybe possibly follow my blog by pressing that follow button on the sidebar to the left of the screen. No but like seriously did you like this post? Should I do more deep think type posts like this? Did you agree/disagree with any of it? Any thoughts at all whatsoever? What is something someone has told you that has stuck with you to this day? What is your favorite song that has an inspiring message?

We Live in A World......

We live in a world where awkwardness and being relatable online can make you popular
But in real life it makes you an outcast
We live in a world where evil can hide in plain site
But good is almost always pushed into the shadows
We live in a world where the smart people are called nerds
While the others are called cool
We live in a world where we are destroying our home
But the people who are doing it the most aren’t doing anything about it
We live in a world where a world leader can say horrible things about people
And no one cares
We live in a world where online friends can be easier to talk to then real ones
Because things like apearence don’t matter
We live in a world full of amazing dreams
But also unfulfilled potential
We live in an amazingly beautiful world
That seems to be slowly dyeing
We live in a world where the hashtag #NoPicsItDidn’tHappen
Is an actual thing
We live in a world full of what can you do for me
And not what can I do for you
We live in a world almost all about the wants of an individual
But not the needs of the poor
We live in a world where judging a person by their cover is done way to often
For things like your skin color, how you dress, who is holding your hand, and so many other things
We live in a world where most thoughts aren’t original
And where people copy

I’m like not even sure what this is. Don’t ask. I thought it was a kind of cool post idea and then I looked it up and found out it was already a thing that people said. Like a lot. Most thoughts just aren’t original. Oh I should add that *goes and adds it*. Well, hi. Whats up with you wonderful people? If you have like any thoughts at all comment them down below because I want to here them.

Light And Dark

Light and Dark
Love and Hate
Happiness and Sadness
Kind and Mean
Whole and a Part
Done and Still in Progress

The thing about light
Is that it cannot exist
Without darkness
A world of just light
Or just dark
Would be emotionless
But with both
We have the world we have now
It is the same for every single thing

Love cannot exist with hate
Happiness cannot exist without sadness
Kindness cannot exist with meanness

Evil will always exist
People who seem to think killing is something that is acceptable
We can't totally erase evil
But we can try to be good ourselves
By helping a cause
Donating
Or just talking to someone you wouldn't usually talk to

Speak Up

Speak Up
Sometimes you feel like you have no choice
But to stay silent
And not say anything
Sometimes that is true
Sometimes it might be a life or death situation
Or a situation where you could get hurt
When that happens
Ask for help
And then
Speak Up
For most of us though
That's not true

Most of us have a choice
And we choose to say nothing
Nothing about the things that are happening
To us
Around us
And everywhere in between

If you don't agree
Then say so
If you don't want to
Then say no
Speak up

You were given a voice
So that you could use it
Use it to express yourself
Your ideas
Your feelings
Being able to talk and communicate is a gift
And amazing privilege that we must use to help

Sometimes people use their voice on other things though
Things like hate
Things like creating fear
Things like arguing
Things like putting people down
Things that wreck havoc
We all do this
Even if we don't realize it

Words are powerful
They are one of the most powerful things on the planet
It doesn't matter what language you speak
One word can break someone
Or make them the happiest person in the world
One word can change a person's life forever

Think about what you are going to say
Always
For one word can change almost everything
Be careful
And precise
Use your words with a purpose
Do something that only you can do

When you see something happening
Tell someone
Maybe a friend
Who needs help
Or maybe a person in the hall who is a stranger to you
Who is being bullied
Or maybe yourself
A person who is not perfect

Don't ever be silent
Instead
SPEAK UP

20 Reasons Why I am a Feminist // Video!

Hello everyone! So today I have a kind of follow up post to my last post on this blog about feminism this time telling you guys some more reasons (20 in fact) about why exactly I am a proud feminist. And to make it even better I have included a video type thing. I have had making a video like this in my head for a long time and I worked on it and so I hope you enjoy it! No let's get started.

1. Because some men think that they are above women
2. Because a strong woman is looked down upon
3. Because I believe in social equality
4. Because I believe that women are capable of anything that a man can do
5. Because women are paid less than men
6. Because some girls in other countries are denied an education because of their gender
7. Because "like a girl" is still a phrase that is used
8. Because women who do or do not wear makeup are criticized and men who do wear makeup are criticized even more
9. Because not enough people know what feminism is
10. Because in 2005 1 out of 3 women killed were killed by a partner
11. Because women can wear pants but men can't wear skirts
12. Because the U.S president does not seem to respect women
13. Because in some countries girls are still sold into forced marriages
14. Because boys (and girls) are taught that showing emotion is weak
15. Because the phrase "man up" is still used
16. Because people are criticized for who they like or if they don't feel comfortable with the gender assigned to them at birth
17. Because some people think feminism is a bad word
18. Because women feel the need to tear other women down
19. Because people can get away with saying bad things about women
20. Because I am a feminist and I know what it means and I want to make a real difference in the world

Now for the video!! I really hope you guys like this. It is basiclly just a video version of the list though so whatever.  :)

The faces that I make in this video are like killing me. Why do I have to make such weird faces!? Like bahh. If you want more videos and posts and stuff like this follow my blog and like the video and comment down below. I would love to know why or why not you guys would call yourselves feminist. Comment down below all thoughts and suggestions! I love you and bye. :)

What is Feminism? + A 12 year old's thoughts on some other hard topics + I try to be a fairy and fail

Hello everyone! Today I have decided to post about a semi kind of controversial subject so don't kill me. This is very important to me though so I decided to share my thoughts with you all today (if you want to watch the video where I basiclly prove that this is important to me you can go to this post). I hope you enjoy. :)

By definition Feminism is "the advocacy of women's rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes"  aka equality. That is all feminism means. It is the belief that one gender should not hold power over the other. Unlike what some other people think. Feminism has nothing to do with saying that girls are somehow better than guys.

To me this is how I think about it. The first part of the word is fe or fem which equals female or lady or girl. The second part of this word is min which I like to think equals men or guy. And the last part of the word is ism which by definition equals "a distinctive practice, system, or philosophy, typically a political ideology or an artistic movement." I like to think put together this means the movement or practice that shows that both guys and girls are equal on all levels of the social spectrum.

So many people get this word confused with man-hating or man-shaming or being biased against men. This is untrue.

Some people actually do get what it means but they put the word aside. This isn't my fight or why is this even a thing anymore.  And I mean hey I get there level of thinking. In america and so many developed countries where most of my readers proably live there isn't that big of a problem. True england has a lady prime minister (I feel like england seriously progressed faster than we did. They went from a monarchy to a girl president. The United States went from a democracy to a cheeto. Just saying), and true women have basicly the same opportunities as men and true we get to go to school and learn the same things as guys. All very mostly true.

Still in our community though women are looked down upon. One example of this is on our jobs. For every I think 1 dollar that a guy makes and girl makes about 75 cents. That is 3/4 the salary of a guy. 3/4! Does not make sense.

This reminds me of an article recently that I read regarding sports. If you are into soccer you might know about the U.S women's soccer team. I was looking up there wins and statistics and they are actualy kind of amazing.  They have won 3 women's world cups and are basically one of the most successful women's soccer team like ever.  Aka they are awesome. Now let's look at the men's U.S soccer team. I am not really sure what exactly they have won. Wikipedia is being freaking confusing.  Anyway they have won much less awards and tournaments and whatnot. But now let's look at the salaries of the 2 teams. This paragraph from this article basically says it.

"The Forbes Celebrity list has a number of male soccer players, but no women. The U.S. men’s team has a player who earns $6 million from his club (Michael Bradley of Toronto FC). The maximum salary for the women in the National Women’s Soccer League is $126,000 (but the details are complicated)."

Pretty much women are still payed less. And don't even get me started on how people actually treat women. I am just saying when a person of high office gets away with calling women horrible names on tape (like they have proof) and talking about them in a disgusting manner the world is still not equal.

Not everyone has to be a feminist or anything though. That's fine. After reading this though I want all of you guys to find a topic that you are very passionate about in our society. Maybe transgender rights, lgbt rights, education, etc. Something that you have strong feelings about and do something about it. Make a call, sign a petition, join a group, or just talk with someone.

But while you are doing this remember people do have feelings. Something that everyone deals with and is proably not very good at is respecting other people's opinions. Some people might disagree with something you say. When they do that don't get mad because that just makes your cause look kind of bad. Instead say that you respect their opinions. Everyone has a different vantage point and were raised differently.

I love all of my readers and people who comment on my blog so much and I hope you guys remember that. Every single thought that you had while reading this I want you to please please comment down below. Thank you!

Go Vote! // Thoughts about the election from a 12 year old + Funny Election memes

If you live in a hole in a deserted island you might not know that the U.S Presidential Election is currently happening. Ok I usually never talk about politics on my blog. But this is a very very interesting election.

Truly I think it is amazing how a woman (Hillary Clinton) is running for president. If you know anything about U.S history you will know that we are very far behind on making all genders equal. Like just a couple years (ok a little farther then that) women weren't even allowed to vote. Now one of them is running for president. Like what?? I mean we made all races equal before all genders. That makes so much sense. Lol. Also you might not know that a lot of the world's most powerful countries are run by women. Pretty cool. I am really honored and happy that we have a girl candidate.

The other candidate is Donald Trump if you were wondering. But the main thing that I am trying to say in this post is go vote! Here in this country we are so privileged that we get to decide who runs our country. In so many other places that is not true or they don't have an organized election like we do. If you are able to (over 18 and American citizen) make sure to make your opinion heard by voting today!

To make everyone laugh in the quite depressing last few hours untill we know our president I have decided to gather a couple of memes. But none of these are mine and if they are yours please tell me so that I can give credit.

*This is just my opinion and I also respect all of your guys opinion on the matter.

Sorry for the short post. So what are your guys thoughts on the election? Leaving on that note bye everyone and make sure to vote today!
