21 Instagram Captions Ideas For When You're Totally Stumped For What To Post + Announcing New Series!

Instagram captions are so so so important and I see people ignoring this all the time. The picture is of course extremely important. Instagram is a visual platform. The photo is what captures people attention. The caption though? That's what makes them stay and maybe actually follow! I personally though have a hard time knowing what to post. I have the pictures but I have absolutely no idea what to put in the caption. That's where this post comes in! I'm going to be giving you 21 Instagram caption ideas!

Call To Action/Question

After every idea I will also be including a question/call to action which you can put at the end of the post. This is extremely important if you want more engagement and comments on your post. Sometimes it's hard to know what to comment. When you ask people a question though, it makes it super easy! Also just a little pro tip, it's usually better to ask a question that's easy to answer. You might be less likely to get a response if the question is more thought provoking although this can be very good. Depends what the post is about.

Who these ideas are for:

Most of these ideas will work for pretty much any general lifestyle account. It is very important to stick to your niche though. If you usually post workout content it's a bit odd if you suddenly posted a food recipe. Keep that in mind!

The ideas:

1. A little intro with some facts about you

This is an awesome post to do if you're a newer account or if you have just recently gained a bunch of followers. Reintroduce yourself.  Maybe say where you live, what your name is, your hobbies, and a couple of miscellaneous facts.

CTA: what are 3 fun facts about you?
2. Three of your current fave products

People love to know the products you're using! Do a little roundup and share some you've been loving. You could do one or three or five! This could be a perfect opportunity to test out your product photography. This is also a good idea if you have a sponsored post you need to do for a brand.

CTA: what are some of your favorite products?
3. Your go to snack

I love getting new ideas and I'm sure your followers do as well! Share a fun little easy snack you love making. If you want you can share multiple and have a little roundup. :)

CTA: What's your favorite snack?
4. Your fave restaurant

Went to a restaurant recently? Share it!! People love restaurant recommendations especially if you have a more local audience! You can talk about what kind of food it was, what you got, and also tips and what to and not to get.

CTA: what's one of your favorite restaurants?
5. Tell about your day

I'm telling you, people love just simple day updates. I honestly thought people would get bored hearing about my day every day but they didn't?! Ummm what?! And I promise your life is probably more exciting than mine. Talk about what you were feeling and what you did and what made you sad or happy. Just give a little insight into your mind and life.

CTA: what's something that made you smile today?
6. An event you're excited for

Maybe you have a concert coming up or a performance you're in that you're super excited for. Talk about it! If you're nervous literally say that. People are so so so supportive and will say all of the good lucks. This is also good because when you post about the event people already know it's happening so they will be more interested. They will want to know how it went.

CTA: What's something that you're currently excited about?
7. Recap of event you went to

Aka the after of the above! Share how it went and show all of the picsssss. If it made you super happy USE ALL CAPS. People love to see real emotion and if you seem super happy they will also get excited. It's like people who have a contagious laugh. Except. Well. Online!

CTA: have you been to any fun events lately?
8. Your favorite classes in school

You can do this one if you're in school or even if you have already graduated. I think a lot of times we totally separate our online and school lives, but you don't have to. I also think knowing what someone likes to do in school can tell a lot about a person and also show your audience some new interests they maybe didn't know you had. For example whenever I tell people I take theater and broadcast journalism they're like, "Oh my gosh. That's so cool!"

CTA: what was/is your favorite class in school?
9. Your favorite songs

Sharing every single song you listen to on your story can be a bit annoying. I think an actual post is a good place to share music though! Round up five of your absolute favorite songs and share them!! I personally am always looking for new music recommendations and I'm sure your followers are as well.

CTA: What's your current favorite song? I always want recommendations!
10. Tips for school

If you have an audience that is mainly in school share your tips! It's really helpful. You don't even have to be graduated or a senior to share your tips. I was helping my siblings start school when I was like in third grade. It's not like they said thank you but I'm sure I was very helpful.

CTA: what grade are you in?
11. Movie/book review

If you like movies or books and are always giving reviews to your friends who maybe don't care put that hobby to good use! Share your fave new movie with your followers. Scream about the adorable ships. Fandoms are powerful. Use that to your advantage.

CTA: what is one of your favorite movies/books?
12. Talk about where you/your family is originally from

I personally think this is really interesting. Especially in the US there are people from everywhere. And you might not know it just from looking at them. If your family has cool traditions share them!! Maybe you eat different food than a lot or your friends. Share itttt.

CTA: where are you from?
13. Fun things to do in your city

Like the restaurant one, this is good if you have a more local audience. Share your fave things to do and just fun places in your city from a local.

CTA: where do you live?
14. Tips on being productive

This is always helpful. To literally everyone. Everyone wants to be productive. And like the one about school, you don't have to be an expert. You can just the share your personal things that you do to help you be productive and maybe help someone along the way.

CTA: what is your top tip for being productive?
15. Instagram tips

If someone is on instagram they probably want grow there instagram which means reading tips would be very helpful. I have multiple insta friends who have done whole little series on instagram tips and like how to grow and they seem to do really well.

CTA: favorite app?
16. Talk about your new blog post/youtube video/any new project

This is probably an of course but I thought I would still list it!! If you have any other social medias besides instagram, then they should all be connected!! Share your new stuff across all platforms.

CTA: have you checked out my new post?
17. Talk about some of your fave Instagram accounts

Just talk and scream about your faves and tag them. People love following suggestions! Plus you could make this a collab with someone and y'all could both give each other shoutouts. Or maybe the person you tag might see the post and like. That is always so cool. And you can get people to tag there faves which brings even more people to the post.

CTA: what are some of your favorite instagram accounts? Tag them!
18. Art

If you are an artist first of all shoutout to you because I have no art skill, second the world needs to see that talent. If you have more of a lifestyle/ascetic feed it might be hard to incorporate art but if you don't want to make a whole other accounts it's totally possible. Play around with it!

CTA: would you call yourself an artist? Should I post more art?
20. DIY instructions/show of a cute DIY

If you are into being creative and making cute DIYs off of Pinterest, totally show them off on the gram. I am personally very bad at making things look cute so I could never haha. If you have that talent though, use ittttttttt. I love the fun little DIY videos on instagram.

CTA: what DIY should I do next?
21. Answer questions people usually ask you/ask for questions on your story

If you've been online long enough you probably have gotten people asking questions. If you've been online super long, then you've probably gotten repeat questions. Take a moment to answer them!! Plus then, if someone asks you again, you can just refer to the post. If you don't get a lot of questions, use the questions feature on your story. This is a great way for you to help your audience and produce content they actually want/share more about yourself.

CTA: What is something you have always wanted to ask me?
22. Share a fun/inspiring quote

Quotes do weirdly well on instagram!! Plus there are numerous ways to do them. You could edit one onto a pic you're already planning on posting, make a separate graphic, or just put it in the caption. One thing about quote posts is that they're more likely to get shared.

CTA: tag someone who inspires you!

I hope you liked that post because I'm officially announcing a new series on my blog!! I get so many questions about instagram so now I'm going to be doing a bunch of posts on it. :) I have at least 3 posts in my little Instagram 101 series planned out but I would love to do more. Comment down below any insta questions you have/things you want me to write about! I want to do posts that are actually helpful to you lovely people. :)

10 Easy Ways To Be Healthier In Your Everyday Life

Everyone probably wants to be healthier. You want to be that super healthy person who goes to the gym every day and and just eats green juice and smoothie bowls. But well. You're not that person. And it's not like you can just become that person overnight. That's totally cool. In this post I'm just going to be showing you 10 ways you can be healthier in your everyday life. They're not hard but will make a difference in the long run. Let's get started!!

*This post is sponsored by Sixspokes but all opinions are of course my own :)

1. Healthy Snacks

Instead of reaching for those hot chips or fritos maybe reach for a just as tasty, but healthier, alternative. The key is finding something that you like and always having it on hand. For me I usually either eat frozen grapes, veggie chips, or nuts.

2. Use A Water Bottle

Awesome for the environment and youuu. I've noticed when I'm using a water bottle I literally drink more. Maybe this is because It's easier to carry around or because it just carries more water. Either way it works. And there are so so many benefits of drinking more water.

3. No Bun Or Just One

The next time you're eating a burger or literally anything with a bun/bread, think about it. Does it reallllllly add that much? Lately I've been only using one bun or just none and most of the time the bread to stuff ratio is too much anyway.

4. Make Breakfast

Don't just eat cereal. That is of course ok. But on those days when you have more time, take advantage of it. Remember, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Make a smoothie or make yourself some scrambled eggs. Both super easy, not time consuming, will make you happy, and is so much healthier than cereal. If you're feeling more like pancakes or french toast than fruit!!You can always add fruit. It's tasty, easy, and of course healthyyyyy.

5. Bike Places

I mean like how cool do I look in that photo? I want to bike more just to look that cool. Once again shoutout to Six Spokes for sponsoring this post! They sent me the jacket and the colorful socks which I both love soooo much.

Ok so back to the actual health benefits haha. If you're going somewhere pretty close but that is maybe too long of a distance to walk or you just want to get there fast, think about biking instead of using the car. Soooo much better for both you and the environment. Plus biking can be super relaxing. It's a nice way to escape from the world for even just a couple of minutes.

6. Set Alarms To Wake Up + Go To Bed

It has been proven that if you wake up and go to bed at the same time every day than you will be happier and more rested and healthier. Plus when you go to bed earlier and wake up earlier you have so much more time to be productive and get things done.

7. Hang Out With People Who Make You Happy

You might be confused, or if you're of an introvert, rolling your eyes, but you're mental health seriously affects your physical health. Just surround yourself with other humans who relate and understand you. Also tryyyy. These amazing humans will probs not come to you. Making friends and keeping those friendships take work.

8. Go Outside

If you're doing something that could be done outside, then go outside! Maybe you're reading a book or working on your computer or doing homework. It's always good to get more vitamin D and this will boost your energy. If you happen to have a patio with a cover and a fan that is pretty much the ideal haha. If not though umbrellas!! And hand held fans!! And water! Great items.

9. Wash Your Hands And Carry Around Hand Sanitizer

Just about everyone seems to be sick right now (currently flu season) and one way to make sure you don't get sick is to wash your hands as much as you can!! I'm sure you've forgotten to wash your hand before meals a couple times. Just try not to. There are some places where you can't really wash your hands, say school, but you can use hand sanitizer!!

10. Don't Get On Your Phone In The Morning

Whenever I get on my phone directly in the morning it basically delays my day. I just want to stay in bed and scroll through insta instead of getting up. A good rule and one that I use is that I have to get ready for the day (clothes and brush teeth and all that) before I get on my phone. A nice little time of just peace.

I really hope you guys enjoyed that and that it helped you. I would lovvvve to do a part two so if you want one, make sure to share this post with all of your friends and comment down below your tips for being healthier. Once again thank you to Six Spokes for sponsoring this post and for sending me the super cute jacket and socks. :)

I've had instagram for over a year now and just wow. That is actually crazy. I remember when I first got it and it made me sooooo happy. Um what???? So today I am collabing with the awesome Grace and we will both be sharing our top ten insta tips. After you read this post make sure to go check out her post over on her blog. :)

7 Things I Have Learned About Instagram So Far
17 Instagram Accounts I'm Loving Right Now
1. Post Good Quality Photos

I know this is so duhhhh and at the top of everyone's tips list but seriously!! I am not saying what pictures you have to post because of course the unique photos makes your account unique but they should be good quality. This means:

-not fuzzy
-you can actually see the main focus of the photo
-it's not dark

How to help that:

-don't use the front facing camera
-natural lighting is always best
-golden hour is a real thing, photos are soooo good when the sun is setting/coming up

2. Use all of the hashtags

Instagram allows you to post 30 hashtags per post and not using absolutelly alll of those is a waste! Hashtags are one of the best ways for people to find your account.

tips:

-the more specific the better
-relevant to the photo and to the audience you want to attract
-don't make them to long
-always have more words in your caption then hashtags or else it's just annoying
-put the hashtags in the post itself (not the comments) but at the end of the post

3. Post Consistently

You need to actually post more than once a month. If you don't post a lot then it will be a lottt harder to get people to follow you. Plus when you do post they will have already forgotten about you since they followed you like two weeks ago so they will either unfollow or just not be engaged. I would recommend posting every other day more then every day cause I think it's just the right amount of posting consistently but not the spammy amount that might annoy people.

4. Be Active On Other Peoples Accounts

This and hashtags are basically the main ways to grow your account. Set aside time every day to actually engage with your followers and comment nice things on there posts. When people comment nice things on my posts it makes me sooo happy and definitely makes me want to follow them.

5. Only Follow Accounts You Enjoy

There are a lot of people that will follow back there followers or do follow for follow and follow/unfollow and hey that works for some people. I personally believe though that you should only follow accounts you reallllllllly enjoy. This makes instagram more fun and makes it so much easier to be active because you genuinely enjoy what's on your feed.

6. Make Friends

Friends are pretty much the best things in the entire world. They just are!! Making friends on instagram is sooooo essential for both growing your account and also just having fun. If you make a lot of online friends there will always be someone online even at like 3 in the morning when all of your irl friends are asleep because time zonessssss. If you think someone is super cool just reach out to them! Even if they have a bigger following than you I promise they are not as scary as they seem. :)

7. Make your captions personal

I've noticed that when my captions are talking about my day more then just my new blog post they do sooooooooooooooooooo much better. I never thought people would be interested in my life but they for some reason are????? Your followers want to know you and who you really are! You might have amazing photos but if you don't engage and share, then it basically means nothing.

8. Post On Your Story

This one hundred percent goes with the one above and just being personal with your followers! Especially if you're more of a niche account and share actual facts/tips/something in your posts and less your life it makes it even more essential to use your stories. Share little bits of your life and use all of the cool features like questions and things like that!

9. Make Your Photos Go Together

I'm not saying necessarily have a super rigid theme and only post one color but to make your feed as a whole, look good. Maybe for you this means taking more photos outside and maybe having kind of a greenish theme or using one filter for all of your posts. Personally I use the filter P5 on VSCO and it gives all of my photos a blue tint and I love it. I would recommend planning out your photos in advance with an app like UMUM to make sure all of the photos work together and everything.

10. Have A Good Bio + Username + Profile Pic

These are all super important because they are the first thing that people see.

For bio: Share a little bit about you and use that link!! If you have any other social media accounts this is a perfect place to put it.

For username:
-make it something that kind of shows what kind of posts you have
-easy to remember
-not to long
-either interesting or have your name

Profile pic:
-of your face
-close up
-bright
-clear

I really hope that that was helpful to y'all!! If you liked it make sure to also check out Grace and her post! I would super love to follow all of y'all on insta so if you have an account make sure to link it down below! If you don't follow me you can find my account here. Small Things You Can Change To Just Be An Overall Happier And More Productive Human Being

Something I've really worked on this past maybe year and a half is being more positive. One of the things that both kind of amazes me and just makes me so so happy is that I would say I've actually accomplished this! If you've met me recently, especially through social media, you will know I am pretty positive. I absolutely always try to find the bright side of things and I'm just an overall really quite happy human being.

I definitely wasn't always like that, though. I'm honestly not sure exactly what flipped for me. Maybe just all the bad things I heard about middle school and I couldn't deal with having a bad three years so I made up this happiness?? Or maybe I'm just like more mature?? Not sure??

Today, I'm going to be listing a bunch of small and super-easy tips to help you be more positive and happy and productive and just cool. :) I'm honestly really excited for this post as I think people online are always so negative (which I hate) but this is a post literally about how to be positive and happy and stuff SO IT'S GOOD.

1. Don't Hate Mondays

Mondays are one of those things that are just universally hated. And, yeah, I get it. When you've been having a nice weekend, it's hard to go back to school/work. You're tired and don't want to wake up early after sleeping in. Buuuuttttt just like most things on this list it's all about the mindset. Instead, think of it a fresh start. A new challenge to overcome. A new opportunity to succeed. Also, just don't go to bed late on Sunday. That will just make you tired on Monday, which will make it even worse.

2. Wear What Makes You Feel Good

Lately, I've learned what types of clothes make me happy, which is just awesome! Instead of just wearing something that you don't really like, maybe make a little more effort and wear something you do like. This is one of the easiest ways to lift your mood because it's an all-day thing! Wearing something you like can refer to both dressing up or just feeling lazy and wearing sweatpants. When I'm wearing my boots and one of my cool colored pants I just feel so much better about myself. :)

Me wearing something I like!

3. Let Yourself Have Lazy Days

Just being lazy sometimes is so important. When you have an endless checklist of just stuff it's so stressful. I was definitely doing this to myself this summer with the whole posting everyday thing. I was giving myself too much to do and making these lists and getting myself all worked up over stuff that was really no big deal. Feel free--at least sometimes--to be lazy. Wear pajamas and binge watch tv. It's okay. Really. You have my permission.

4. Surround Yourself With People You Love

Whether it's family or friends, try to surround yourself with people who make you happy. If you ever have a friend who may not really be a friend, just...don't. Try not to hang out with that person that much. In addition, try to reach out to people, and try not to be afraid to be vulnerable. When I'm sad, my cure-all is hanging out with my friends.

5. Be A Part Of Something

For example, don't be afraid to join some clubs at school! Or audition for the school musical! When you're a part of something, at least for me, it feels like I have a purpose, you know? This is also a fabulous way to make friends! And as noted above, friends are very cool. Plus, when you actually get into whatever it is...boom! Instant energy booster! :)

6. Have A Hobby

Have something that just makes you, you. That way, when you introduce yourself in an interview or Instagram bio, you can say "Hi I'm *insert your name* and I love *insert thing.*" For a while, I felt like I just wasn't that great at anything and that I didn't have anything that made me, me. That was not good and I realized that first of all, I'm great at lots of things and that you don't have to be perfect at anything. But also I really embraced blogging and it's made me so much happier!

7. Get The Amount Of Sleep That You Need

One of the worst things ever for mood is when you're tired and just don't want to function. Instead of just slugging around all day, first of all, know your body. Know how much sleep you need to function well. I know lots of people can actually stay up late but quite a lot of people just can't and they need a lot of sleep. So who are you? Know yourself. Know if you need sleep and how much and try to stick to that. NO ALL NIGHTERS.

8. Don't Watch Local News

Local news is seriously depressing. Like seriously. It's just a bunch of random people dying and being murdered and just ugggggg. The other day, one of my classmates who flooded just moved back into her house and then it freaking burns down and it was on the news and someone told me this AND IT'S SAD OK BEING SAD EQUALS NOT HAPPY. I'm not like still really emotional about this can't you notice??? Haha yeah.... And shootings and just ugggggggg.

9. Eat Fresh And Healthy

I've been bringing a salad to school lately, and I honestly love it! I used to just take regular sandwiches, and it was always kind of bland and definitely didn't bring up my mood. But with a salad, I, first of all, look forward to my lunch. I just get a super easy salad mix thing and then get a good dressing which I really enjoy. Second, eating healthy things like said salad actually do bring up your mood. It's fresh and can basically be like splashing water on your face EXCEPT WITH FOOD.

10. Let Yourself Cry

And have other emotions in general. I am by no means saying in this post that you should always be happy. No one is always happy, well, except for maybe Smiler in the Emoji Movie. And she ends up trying to take over the world. But it's okay to NOT be happy sometimes. I think some people really need to realize that. Let yourself be sad and angry and all of those things. When you bottle up your emotions, you will eventually explode and that's never pretty. But also realize your triggers and try to stay away from them.

That was getting too long, so I had to end it. BUT if you want a part two, comment down below! I loved this post, and I hope this maybe helps some people or at the very least just lets you see into my mind. :) Also I'm thinking of doing a little update post where I share with y'all what's been happening to me lately (moving and house getting torn down and other things). Would you guys like that?

If you aren't following me on both Instagram and Bloglovin, what are you waiting for?

Shoutout to Isabel for taking these pics of me!

Did you like this post? What kind of posts would you like to see from me in the future? What are some things that make you happy? What would you add to this list? What is your favorite thing to do when you're feeling down?

14 Easy Ways To Make Money As A Teen

Hellllllllooooo. It is Nabila here back with another post. :) So I know all kids/teens have this problem. We need money to do/get things like:

-clothes
-concert
-restaurant with friends
-starbucks
-decor things
-cute stationary
-presents for other people

Pretty much just in general life it's quite nice to have money. The problem though is that until you hit 16 (I think that's the rule in most places not really sure) you can't apply for an actual job which is the main way people earn money. Buuuuttt do not despair in today's post I'm going to list some fun and easy ways (14 to be precise) to make money! This is mainly geared towards ages 8 to around 15 but will definitely also work for older peeps. Let's. Get. Started!

1. Chores

I know that personally my parents don't pay me to do chores but lots of parents do. If you don't currently have chores first of all I'm totally jealous but second any parent I'm pretty sure would be happy to give there kids chores around the house for a reasonable fee.

2. Clean someone elses house

If your well respected in your neighborhood and have some people you know then cleaning is a good way to make money. Cleaning services can cost quite a lot but almost everyone cares about cleanliness and having a helper for a low price is pretty appealing for lots of people.

3. Help an adult with technology things

You know how teens and kids usually know more stuff about technology then adults? Yeah you can easily use that to your advantage. Maybe just give a class or something for your family members or maybe if someone you know has a business or company offer to be a social media manager (I do this for my mom).

4. Babysit

Yes yes yes this is cliche but it's a good way to make money. If you have family members or friends/acquaintances with young children than babysitting is perfect. You can babysit on nights and weekends and in the summer. I would recommend this to anyone who likes little kids (aka me if any of you guys know me on real life and live in Houston and need someone to babysit feel free to contact me).

5. House sit/water plants

If your neighbors/friends ever goes out of town and need someone to watch there house this is perfect. Watering plants isn't hard and doesn't take that much time.

6. Pet sit

If you love animals then pet sitting is perfect. If you know someone who's going out of town or even just going to be gone for a day offer to petsit. Depending on the pet though it might be a bit hard as lost of pets need constant care.

7. Dog walker

Pretty much an easier version of pet sitting. Lots of people who have dogs but maybe don't have time to walk there dogs would love someone to do it for them and this could become a multiple times a week job that can definitely pile up over time.

8. Social media

Teens are at the center of everything new and cool and awesome and most of that happens on social media. Like the time I spend on Instagram a day is probably not healthy. Haha. Why don't we try to put all of that time to good use? There are lots of ways to make a profit on social media from brand sponsorship to just plain ads to everything else. Reach out to a company and don't be afraid to talk to people. It helps. :)

9. Blogging

Ok so I don't personally make money from blogging but I definitely want to. It's kind of taboo and some people thing making money off of things like blogging and social media is bad but I personally find that stupid. Yeah blogging should be for fun but making some money off of it definitely doesn't make it not fun. Like some peoples whole jobs is just to be a blogger. I find that incredibly cool.  Soooo if your already a blogger then look up how to make money as a blogger. There are so many ways from affiliate to brand things to so much more. If your not already a blogger you should totally start one! I am always open to helping people start blogs so definitely reach out to me!

10. Car wash
Most adults (or other teens for that matter) want there car clean so you can make some actual money from this. Pllllluuuusss it can be fun with friends. If you have someone you know offer to wash there car or maybe set up a thing near your house.

11. Lemonade stand

This is also super cliche but it one hundred percent works and can also be fun with friends. If you want to be all fancy you can use actual lemons but you can easily just get the powder stuff and make a whole container of it. Then you really just need a table and a chair and your pretty much set.

12. Online shop

I know so many bloggers who have things like etsy shops or just shops on there blogs. They sell things like bookmarks, blog designs, shirts, and everything else. If your crafty then an etsy shop is perfect as you can make cool stuff and make money on it and just feel generally awesome BECAUSE YOU HAVE A SHOP WHICH IS COOL.

13. Fiverr

So I found this site a little while ago and actually it's pretty cool. Pretty much it's a site where you can sign up and offer a service for $5+. You can do anything from graphic design, drawing, or writing. I haven't used it but I've looked into it and it overall seems like a good way to use your hobbies to get money. :)

14. Tutoring

If your good at a certain subject at school and have some extra time on your hands then tutoring is perfect. There are lots of parents who would love someone to tutor there kids and this is even better if your known to be smart. Some schools have tutoring program things you can sign up for but there are also lots of websites online and probably neighbors in your area.

Oh and I'm totally willing to do any of these things and I'm broke so if you like know me in real life feel free to come talk to me or message me or any of those things. I need money OK. DO NOT JUDGE ME. Haha. Annnnnnyyyywwwwayyyyy make sure to follow me on bloglovin' and Instagram if you haven't already! Also I recently actually started using my goodreads so I would love to see you guys on there as well. :)
How did you guys like this post? How do you usually make money? What would you add to this list? What posts would you like to see from me in the future?

How To Take Awesome Photos With Your iPhone

I literally wrote a lot of this before the hurricane so if anything sounds out of place that might be why Hello. It is me. I am here. I am Nabila. Today I am talking about photos. And iPhones (although this will apply to pretty much apply to any phone).

Who will this help?

-You
-Your friends
-Everyone you know
-bloggers
-non-bloggers
-anyone who has social media
-anyone who has a phone
-unicorns
-and the troll under the bridge
-your little sister

Pretty much everyone. Pretty much everyone who either has a phone or has access to one. If what I looked up was correct, 77% of all American adults own smartphones. I mean that is a lot and doesn't even include teens and tweens. In this post, I'm going to list 13 tips/things you should if you want to get cool photos with your iPhone. These are super user-friendly so don't fret if you are very new to this whole "Taking photos thing".

How To Take Stunning Photos With Your iPhone

1. Use The Rule Of Three's

I originally heard about this when I was in 4th grade (I think). I was doing this after-school computer club thing where we made silly videos and it was actually a lot of fun (it was pretty much just a bunch of technology geeks which are of course the best people). The teacher who was in charge of the class mentioned the term but didn't really explain it. I asked my dad about it and he explained it to me. Pretty much the rule of 3's says that the actual subject of the photo should take up about a 3rd of the photograph while the other 2/3rds of the photo should just be background. You can find the actual definition here. This doesn't apply to all photos but you should always keep it in mind. Maybe you are taking a picture of a plant. Instead of just getting the plant show the plant and its surroundings. This makes the photo more interesting and unusual.

2. Put On The Grid Feature

This goes along with the point above. When you put the grid on when you are taking a photo there will be 9 equal squares. This helps so that you can make a photo look exact and use the rule of 3's. It is super easy to turn this on and personally, I think it really helps. All you have to do is go to the settings app and scroll down to the thing that says "Photo and Camera". Once you are there you just have to scroll and tiny bit and then you should see something that as "Grid" that you can turn on. For some people, this makes it harder to take photos as it can be a bit distracting though.

3. Don't Use Flash

Most of the time flash just makes a photo look fake a weird. Unless it is dark and you are taking a photo with your friends try not to use flash. I did actually have an example but I can't find the photos so you know...

4. Try Not To Zoom

Whenever possible try to physically get closer to whatever you are taking a photo of. Yes, I know more walking is almost never a good thing but it will make your photo better. I, of course, get using zoom because sometimes you have to. Whenever you do zoom in though it degrades the quality of your photo and makes it really fuzzy.

5. Clean Your Lens

Don't look at me like I'm a crazy person this is a thing. I promise. It is a good idea to clean your lens everyone once in a while. The lens on your camera can get dirty super easy. I mean think about where your phone has probably been in the past few hours. Maybe in your pocket, in that drawer you haven't cleaned in like 10 months, and maybe even a bathroom. That is both gross to think about but it also means that there is probably a lot of dirt on the lens. Any soft cloth will do the trick. If you happen to have one of those things that are supposed to clean glasses than those also work super well for this.

6. Try To Use The Rear-Facing camera

This means instead of what I like to call your selfie camera or the camera on the screen side of your phone. There are a couple reasons for this. Number 1 is that personally, I think it is a million times easier. Second though and most importantly the rear-facing camera is a lot better quality than the "selfie camera".

8. Get A Tripod

You might be confused but yes there is such thing as a phone tripod. I was actually looking them up on Amazon recently because I really want one. The average price is about 10-40$ which isn't like that expensive. They are really useful especially if you have really shaky hands which I definitely do.

9. Pay attention to lighting

This is really important for basically every photo you ever take. Things like lighting are essential. I kind of have 3 things for. Number one is when you can if you are taking photos outside get the sun behind you. This makes whatever you are shooting a lot brighter and easier to see and less weird shadows. Number two which relates to number one is that you should always use natural lighting when you can. Number three is..... Something. I actually did have a number three and then I forgot because as I said I have memory problems.

10. Edit Your Photo

Last but certainly not least is edit your photos! I love editing photos and although it might sound complicated it's pretty easy. I use an app called VSCO on my phone which is really easy to use but also has a lot of features. So I personally love VSCO but there are also a lot of other super cool editors out there and there are some like super professional ones if you are willing to pay money for it.

Thanks to Aura (a cool digital picture frame company) for providing me with this awesome graphic!

And that was how to take awesome photos with your iPhone with the one and only Nabila! Actually, though I took a bunch of photos for this post right before the flood (this post has been pushed back and changed dates when it was supposed to be published like ten times) and it's both making me cringe and smile but also kind of frown and I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THEY ARE.

So anyway how is life for you guys? Do you use your phone for photography? Are you a blogger? What are your iphone photography tips? Do you enjoy taking photos? What is your favorite photo you have ever taken?
