2018 Recap

It's New Year's Eve and let me just say woah. THIS YEAR WENT BY REALLY FAST ESPECIALLY THE SCHOOL YEAR LIKE WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED HELP. As I've done in past years (2016 and 2017!) I thought I would do a fun recap of the year. Basically listing some stuff that happened to me this year. :) These posts are always fun to make, so I hope you enjoy ittttttttt. This year though I'm doing my goals separately! Look forward to a post on looking back on goals and new goals and stuff soon. :)

-Women's March which was super cool like last year 

-I GOT TO SEE GRACE VANDERWALL IN CONCERT AS A LATE BIRTHDAY AND Y'ALL THAT WAS FREAKING GREAT

-My elementary school got torn down :(

-My old house also got torn down

-Did yearbook (sadly not in it anymore cause of scheduling problems *cries*)

-Went to Marfa and Big Bend for spring break 

-Got into NJHS + was elected vice president for student council

-Got to read something I wrote on the radio

-I lived in the 3rd ward in Houston for a while (after the flood) which was really interesting but right after the break (not sure if this was in 2018 but I don't know I'm counting it) we moved into the house we live in now. It's a lot nicer and is closer to school and stuff which is so much better. Hopefully, by the end of 2019, I can say we're in our new new house (being built now!!!).

-The march for our lives happened! More and more (young) people got into politics and activism and it was super cool. 

-Met Kwame Alexander 

-Watched Infinity War

-Started posting more on youtube

-Celebrated the end of the school year by hanging with lots of friends

-Invited friends over for a movie night and had lots of fun

-Did a little engineering camp and both built and programmed a robot 

-Celebrated 4th of July and got a cool photo of lightning and fireworks

-Spent a lot of my summer with my grandparents in South Carolina 

-Some of which was spent in Greenville!

-Caught lots of fish and was on the boat lots and lots while I was there

-Got to come home and see the beginnings of the house 

-Went to the miller outdoor theatre at lottttttt

-Did yoga for the first time

-Hung out with lots of friends over summer

-Started 8th grade and my last year of middle school 

-Saw Kristian Chenoweth

-Turned 14 

-Got to spend my birthday in New Orleans

-Had a fun scavenger hunt birthday party

-Started Karate 

-Spent a lot of time at the construction house 

-Also started Algebra (aka torture)

-Was elected historian for NJHS

-Went to a really really tall building

-Thought a lot about life 

-Did The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and played Maxine and did a UIL competition and advanced to District!  

-Got my gold belt in Karate 

-Did lots of student council and NJHS stuff

-Met Jason Reynolds and got his new book

-Went to the renaissance festival 

-My blog turned 5

-Did a whole month of collabs for my blogiversary 

-Applied and decided where I'm going to high school 

-Lots of gifts and gift giving and white elephants and holiday parties

-Christmas

6 Items Perfect For Stocking Stuffers (Or Smaller Gifts!)

Christmas is getting superrrrrr close and that means gifting season is upon us. One of the things we forget to do a lot is get stocking stuffers! Sooo I thought I'd make a little list of recommendations. These also work as smaller gifts. :)

Ella + Mila Nail Polish

Nail polish is always a good stocking stuffer because it's small but also cute and useful, and I thought this pink shade was really cute. Fun fact Ella + Mila is a totally cruelty-free brand which means they don't test on animals! Places like Sally Hanson and Essie actually do. 

Birthday Cake Bath Bomb

I've been getting into bath bombs a lot lately and I know a lot of people who have as well! This is perfect if you know a person who takes baths on a regular basis or is always complaining that they need to relax. Taking a bath with a bath bomb is a perfect way to do that!! This is also a good birthday gift. :)

L'Oreal Paris Lipstick 

Lipstick is a perfect gift for someone who wears makeup and also for people who don't. For example, I almost never wear makeup but I do wear lipstick actually quite a bit! Plus this color is very much a nude pink so it's perfect for even the people who aren't trying to be that bold but just want to spice up there appearance a bit (aka me!!). 

Organic Sheet Mask

Sheet masks are becoming more and more of a thing and it's definitely for a reason! They are perfect for anyone who wants to improve their skin. They moisturize your skin and are just super useful. :)



Cute Socks

Cute socks are pretty much the best thing ever. They're fun, they make things instantly cute, and pretty much everyone will appreciate them as a gift. I found these little sloth socks and thought they were the cutest ever!

2018 Christmas Wishlist / Teen Gift Guide

I did a Christmas wish list last year which I thought was fun and I also find these kinds of wishlist posts really helpful when I'm getting gifts for people. Let's get started!

1. Polaroid/Instax 

I've been wanting a polaroid camera for a while cause they just seem so cool! I want to get cute photos of friends and things and be able to hang them up on my wall. :)

2. Bluetooth Speaker 

A lot of my friends have these small speakers that they bring places and I always think it's the coolest thing in the entire world. We have a Sonos speaker at my house which works really well but you can't really bring it outside or anything.

3. Vans 

People always have those van slip ons and I always think they're so cute!! I know it's kind of basic but it's fine haha. I would also love a pair of there mickey mouse shoes specifically this one, this one, or this one. 

4. Subscription Box

There are so many fun subscription boxes! It sounds so fun to receive a box full of surprise goodies every month. I've seen so many on Instagram and ahhhh they all look adorable. This would be such a good gift. I would probably either want a book/food/fashion one. 

5. Rompers 

Rompers and jumpers are just the cutest thing to me! I have one pink one (which you've probably seen on my Instagram) and it always makes me feel cute when I put it on. 

6. Camera/New Computer

These are both bigger presents and they're kind of similar so I'm putting them together. I've been wanting both of these for a whilllllle and it would make me soooo happy if I was able to get either of these things. :)

7. Jacket 

I have a couple of jackets that I actually like now (well more like two) but you can never have to many cute jackets. I mean right?!

8. Faux Fur Blanket 

I am suchhhhhh a sucker for soft things that I can touch so I would absolutely love one of these blankets. They're so cute and also just amazing??

9. Harry Potter Something

I really like harry potter but I have nothing from it! No shirt, no socks, no nothing. There are soooooo many adorable stuff that is harry potter themed it's actually crazy.  

10. Pins 

I've been wanting pins for forever!! I can put them on my lanyard for school and next year I can put them on my backpack. I just think they make everything super cute. 

11. Neon Sign 

These are also a bit on the expensive side but it's just one of the cutest ways to decorate a room ever! There are so many different signs that say and look like different things and I love it. 

12. Choker

I've decided you can never get enough chokers, You just can't. They're so versatile and so cute! Layered ones are my fave.

13. Earrings 

I'm always asking for earrings and I seem to lose them just as fast as I get them. I think I have a problem haha. Earrings are one of those accessories though that can totally lift my mood.  I would especially love an ear cuff. They just look so cool!!

14. Fairy Lights 

Whenever I see the fairy lights in movies or online, they always look like the cutest thing ever. I've been wanting these for a while and I think it would be super cute in my new room. :)

15. Combat Boots

I've been wanting combat boot ever since mine totally broke. Dr. Martens would be actually amazing! I've had two pairs of combat boots in the past and they make me feel really confident. 

16. Jessie Peage Merch 

I absolutely love Jessie Peage! She just released some merch with hot topic that I would love to be able to get. :) I would love this shirt or one of her pins. 

17. Cavtown Merch 

Cavetown is one of my favorite artists ever (I'm going to see him in February!!!!!!) and I would love some of his stuff. He has this little lemon icon and ahhh it's so cute. I would love the socks, this, this, or this.

18. Why Be Racist When You Could Just Be Quiet? Shirt

I've been wanting this shirt since I saw it the first time! It's super cute and supports a message and I can also never have too many cute t-shirts. 

19. Light Box

I always see these things like at friends houses and online and ahhhhh they seem the cutest ever. You can change what they say and they can have cute reminders and it's a fun accessory. 

20. Popsocket

Recently my popsocket one hundred percent broke. Like it just came apart. I was extremely not happy. I use my popsocket like a lotttttttttttttttttttt. It broke at just the right time though and now I'm just asking everyone to get me one haha.

What I Got For Christmas 2017

I should have posted this earlier but I was planning on making a video as well but then I was like "Well no ones gonna want to watch a what you got for Christmas like a month after Christmas" which is probably when I would have gotten around to filming it so you know.  I had a fabulous Christmas at my grandparents house with some family. I know I personally love posts like this because I'm super nosy so I thought some of you would like it as well. :)

First up is this beautiful color set! The two days before new years eve we stayed with some of my parents friends and one of them got this for me. It also comes with some colored pencils and it's animal themed and it's just so cute!

These were all from my grandmother. I love the slippers because they're soft and have little sheep on them. :) :)

These were all from my little sister Naomi! She got me the chokers because she knew I needed some and then she made me the cute hair clips. 

Don't mind my weird fingers but isn't this just so I don't travely feeling? It's actually a photo book and it has these cute quotes all over it. I think I'm going to use it as a little scrapbook for the year. 

The butterfly necklace and earrings were from my grandmother and the necklace was from my aunt. They're all super pretty and I'm definitely going to be wearing them more in the future.   

Stocking stuffers! A Clemson headband, some nail polish, chap stick, and that weird ball game thing. It's almost like a rubix cube and you have to move the little balls so that they coordinate with the correct color. I am so bad at it *laughs*

Last but not least I got this tripod for my phone! It also comes with a remote that connects to my phone through Bluetooth so it's a lot easier to get pictures of myself for my blog and stuff like that. All of the photos from Monday's post (which I would love for you to check out by the way) were taken with it. I've been wanting a tripod for a long time both for videos and photos so I have to say it's my favorite gift. :)
