ReplyDeleteYour best friends are those two big people who live in your house. If you get a stomach-ache tonight, at least one of them will be awake worrying about it. The other will probably feel guilty about sleeping enough to work the next day. I'll give you an idea of what life is like without them.
Last November, after 2 months of feeling terrible and years of avoiding doctors, I entered a hospital emergency room. I was diagnosed with heart and kidney failure. Then I spent 8 days in the cardiology ward.
The one girl I knew, my "friend", heard what happened. She hasn't spoken to me since. Not a word.
Somebody once wrote something clever in a journal. "The opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference." So true. And REAL friends are a rare and precious gift from God.

First yes adult perspectives can be extremely annoying sometimes. Second I totally agree with the whole parent friend thing. Third I have actually heard that quote before in church.

DeleteExactly, Steph. It's kind of embarrassing but (EDIT- Excepting FAMILY,)the best people I've ever known, and the finest friends I've ever had, have been cats. So I've always had someone. Just not a human someone. Isn't that pathetic!?
